The "boys" are almost 2 yrs old.  You'd think they'd stop worrying me.

Bubba loves strings and cords.  All of our shoes are put away in closets, because he chews right through the laces. But, we had a big, long, thick (over 1/4" thick) shoelace in the basement, among Grub's toys.

BF noticed a couple of days ago that half of it was gone.  "He couldn't swallow that.  Maybe he carried it off somewhere", he said.  I searched high and low, and had a worried feeling.  It seemed to me Bubba was eating less enthusiastically.

We had to be out of town for the day yesterday.  Came home to a pile of pukey.  Amongst some food, was 10 inches of shoelace, coiled up.

He ate his breakfast well this morning.

Wow Spartycats, I'll bet you are relieved.
I know as hard as we try as pet parents to remove all potentially harmful items from our homes, it's never possible to get everything. And if they want to find and play with something, they will.
Raleigh is a bit of worry in that respect, too. We call her our "junkyard dog" as she seems to want to chew on the interactive toys after she catches it. We'll have to keep an eye on her, too.
So happy that Bubba is OK!

Thank heavens Bubba is okay.

Spartycats, I don't have to tell you that they are the craftiest little buggers on the planet.

Thank goodness Bubba is okay now.

Unbeknownst to me, when Mr. Brown was 2 years old he ate something that he shouldn't have.  He started vomiting and vomiting and I rushed him to the vet.  They said he was constipated and gave him an enema.  Later that day he passed the plastic drawstring that goes around the top of a kitchen garbage bag.  We never used those types of garbage bags again.

Reminds me of the show that was on animal planet about strange things dogs have eaten.  Guess they need to add cats to that!

This is a worry for me right now, as 'Bisi tried to put everything in her mouth.  She's been chasing my shoe strings.

Thank goodness Bubba is all right.

Reggie was like that he loved to eat plastic bags, I can't tell you how many trips we made to the ER for that.

Glad Bubba's ok.

Ah, Bubba!  Glad he passed the shoelace.  Gee, I hate when they eat things they aren't supposed to eat.  {{{hugs}}}  Mine are into plastic and string or rope.

Oh, I can understand how you must have felt!  How great that he coughed it out.

I think some cats act like 2 year old kids until they are at least 16...and these boys sure look like candidates for that list.

I had the same experience many years ago with a cat and a rubber band.  Since then, any rubber band that comes into our house immediately goes into a closed container inside a drawer.  Scared me half to death.

I'm so glad that all "came out" well!

It is indeed hard to keep up with all the things the little stinkers will go for. Some of my kitties have been plastic hunters. Booper will still go for a rubber band if he can get one. We've been hiding those for years.

Bubba just added a few gray hairs to your head.  I resemble this Sparty, we are still looking for the missing mousey tail here. Thankfully its not as long as the shoelace Bubba consumed.  I am so glad it didnt cause problems and that he coughed it up.  I have a feeling Bubba is now on restriction.

Wow you sure must be relieved. Thankfully the whole lace came out in one piece. Pets - I swear they like giving us gray hair!
