Sophers has started in with some diahrrea since last Tuesday, clear out of the blue again, no change to diet, etc.  Its probably not the food but thought I would double-check just in case, if anyone is noticing any poo problems in their kitties eating Liver & Chicken FF?  The dates we are using are Nov, Dec, Jan 2012.

We are going to try and get a stool sample to run out hopefully Monday or Tuesday, if she will cooperate and go during the daytime.  One other thought might be that we have been doing some painting at my sisters condo and I guess its possible we brought something home to her, although we dont wear our shoes in the house....err, except I remember running in to grab something before leaving one time...with my shoes on... It might not be either of those things, Sophs just seems to have these unexplained episodes.

Sandi,
I bought 2 cans of this flavor, and opened one.  It looked quite undercooked to me - toward the center of the can - especially the liver - it looked a bit too raw.  I chose to dump the can.  Best by Nov. 2012.

I haven't noticed any that look undercooked, but have had Punkin walk away from some. Chicken ,chicken & liver & turkey feast. However Remy was willing to eat them.

Couple of cans of Jan 2013 date that I know of; readily accepted and no sign of issues so far.

Fed liver and chicken for the first time about a month ago. Didn't agree with Max at all. It came out of both ends (first time he has ever reacted like that to food) but he was fine in 24hrs. Raleigh ate it too but had no problems. We just figured liver was not something that Max could tolerate so we'll not be trying it again. I threw out the can so I don't know the best buy date.

Our Nov cans looked OK but we had some Oct that I switched to on Saturday....so far no change to Sophs potty issues...sigh....looks like next on the list of things to do is stool sample to the vet.  Thanks everyone for your input.

Sandi- I recently got a really strong shelf stable pre/probiotic. You would only need about 1/4-1/3 of a capsule for Sophers. Let me know if you want to try it. It can be left out in her food so much easier to use.

Thanks for asking Spartycats, she has still been having diarrhea as of yesterday.  Today she hasnt gone yet...which figures because we had planned on taking out a stool sample today but its too late for today now.

Isn't that always the way, eh. How do they know? Hope the delay meant things were improving and she is coming around from whatever set her off.

I know shadowmice, I swear they know, lol  Well she finally went this morning and things look much better, there was a wee bit of blood on the outside of the poo but I suspect thats just from irritation from all the diarrhea.  I will still be keeping watch, if more blood continues, its time for another vet appt.  She is scheduled to have her 6 month check up next month anyway.

Great news that Ms. Wild Child's insides are calming down and that whatever caused this is now out of her system.

Well, we had a bit of a setback yesterday, she threw up twice, the last time had a hairball in it.  She was feeling pretty punky yesterday enough that she didnt even want to play tunnel and kragonfly, which we know she isnt feeling good if she misses that.

But this evening, we are seeing signs of our normal Sophers back, she has done some running around on her racetrack (the hallway) and seems to be eating well so we hope we are through with this bout.   She hasnt gone poo since day before yesterday but with the vomiting yesterday Im not surprised.  If we can get a good poo, I will be happy.  Cheesy
