TWIT Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

I'm having a hard time posting in Twit's thread, but my husband, our cats and dogs just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts and condolences. It means a lot to us. When I can get my act together, I'll post some more photos of Twit and tell you a little about her.

That is a beautiful and absolutely perfect tribute to Twit, and to all our angel cats. I imagine that is just how it is, when they are called home to God. Thank you for sharing it and the beautiful picture of her.

I am having a hard time posting this too, because of the tears in my eyes. Thank you for the lovely picture of Twit and the very moving poem. I continue to hold you all close in my thoughts.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful memorial to Twit. The poem is perfect and the picture is who she is once again at the Rainbow Bridge - healthy and young and loving you for doing what was best for her, even though it was hardest for you.

Thank you all for thinking of Twit and helping light her way. You are all a great comfort to us. We have her candles going until she's back home with us. That picture of Twit was taken less than a year ago...shows how fast heart disease took her from us. The rainbow picture was taken from my deck after a storm, so it really is Twit's rainbow. She was terrified of thunderstorms. |
