Dear sweet Mickey cat passed away on Wed morning in his little cat bed. Gentleman that he was to the end, he saved me from having to take him in to the clinic that afternoon, a decision I made the night before and was dreading.
He had weakened considerably Mon & Tues, and I knew the end was near. I gave him some dry food Mon eve & Tues morn, which he ate quite a bit of. He always loved dry food but I've only fed canned for several years. He had stopped eating on his own last week, so it was a joy to see him enjoy eating again.
I knew when I got home Tues eve and he wasn't able to get out of his bed to use the litter box he couldn't go on. He was always such a clean, reserved cat, it must have been awful for him not to take care of himself. Now he's free of pain and suffering, and I hope enjoying his freedom hunting in the fields & forests on the other side.
I miss you dearly little stub-tailed beauty boy. Till we meet again....

Petslave, I'm sorry that sweet Mick has made his transition, but confident that he IS now healthy and whole and doing all those things he loved doing that his sick body wouldn't allow him to do. It's never easy to say good-bye, for now, and I know you will miss him terribly. I'm so, so sorry.

sweet angel Mickey cat has joined all of our angels who are free of illness and pain...as we all join you in your grief...He has given you a great gift...he decided when it was his time...something that is not always possible and is so very very painful... I am so sorry about Mickey Petslave. At least you were spared having to decide for him and I'm sure he is happy and healthy again. Try to think of him playing at the bridge with all of our angels. Hugs.
