Just saw this and wanted to say what a beautiful memorial to Genji in your letter. Your words so eloquent and also describing his favorite thing brought tears to my eyes. May we all remember our beloved pets who have gone before us in such a heartfelt way. Thank you.

Shibadiva:  I also just found this today.......what a beautiful tribute to your beloved Genji Cat.  I am so sorry to hear that you lost your little friend.

I believe they come back to visit......absolutely no doubt in my mind.  After I had Sasha (Black Lab) put to sleep, I kept hearing her plunk down on the kitchen floor, one of her most favorite places.  I'd go running out there knowing full well she wasn't there.  I sensed her moving around the house & thought I heard her tags tinkling.  I knew she was here.

Hoping you find peace at this most difficult time.  You'll always have those special memories.

Hugs & kisses....... Kiss

Those hallucinations are the oddest thing, aren't they? Over many years, we get so accustomed to seeing a flash of fur, a meow or the jingle of tags.

It's always a difficult time for the veterinary staff, too, when they assist a long time friend to the Bridge, so I tucked Genji's blog story into a thank you card for them. Everyone at the clinic read it.

I still hear meowing in the night, although now it is real: the soft inquisitive voice of Molly, asking to come and sleep with us.

Shibadiva,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Dearest Little Genji.  Thank you for sharing your special tribute to him.  They touch our lives in such a profound way...  we share such deep love.  We are blessed to have had them in our lives and have had the opportunity to experience that love.  They are gone from us, but not too far.  I believe that they can hear us when we talk to them and that has helped me through many lonley nights.  The separation is one of the hardest to handle, but can you immagine our reunion?!!!!!!!!!!!  What a beautiful thing to look forward to, one I hold on to for dear life.  I am sorry and feel saddened that your baby has left your side...  I pray you will find peace to fill that spot they leave behind in our hearts.  God bless.
