My heart grieves with you, Shibadiva.  Thank you for sharing your Samurai Genji's story with us, so touchingly and beautifuly told.  Your words reflect the love you and Genji shared on this earth.  Walk between worlds you will for a bit with heightened senses and in the dreaming, meet Samurai Genji whole and hale again, come to thank you and tell you of his enduring love for you.

Oh Shibadiva, I'm so sorry for your loss of the wonderful  Samurai Genji Cat.
Your words are so beautiful and meaningful. He lived the good life and died a dignified death. I know he thanks you for that.
You have such a great understanding of all things, and i thank you for that.
He will have many many friends who will meet with him and he will be their Samurai. My heart is broke to hear the sadness, but also happy that we all understand He is now free and healthy once again.
[Hugs] to you, my friend.

I am so touched by your comments. You have all been there, and it is reassuring to know how many friends Genji has beyond the bridge, and your departed loved ones now have a new companion.

Spring is quite short here on the south coast of Canada and what a precious time it is, from the gladdening of the heart at the first crocus leaves peeking through last year's leaf debris to the colour riot only a couple of weeks later. Sometimes winter tries to foil things with a last snowy blast on the new green shoots, but they persevere.

Some years, it is easy to miss spring when one is pre-occupied with small-L life.

This year, spring whacked me on the head at two in the morning during that Dark Night of the Soul, when the weeping cherry's blooms shone like spring rain in the stark porch light.

You're right. That was Genji's work.

And every spring I will think of Angel Genji as I watch the blossoms unfold.

As spring comes, we will all remember and learn a lesson. Let's not be pre-occupied and enjoy life to the fullest.
Thank You Genji, I am paying more attention. And it will always be spring and summer where You are now.

Shibadiva, your Samurai Genji came quietly into your life and shared 19 wonderful years with you.
You helped your Genji pass quietly to his new life at the Bridge.

Your written tribute to him was just beautiful.

Although your heart is heavy, I send prayers that the memories and wonderful life you both shared will ease the heaviness of your heart.

I'm so sorry you had to let your sweet Genji go, shibadiva.  Thank you for sharing his wonderful story and the bittersweet reminder of his continued presence through the flowering of spring.  Prayers to you and your angel boy, may you continue to find him in the many signs around you every day.

petslave I thought I glimpsed him out of the corner of my eye yesterday as I opened the door to the yard to let the dogs out, turning as usual to make sure that Genji was nowhere near the door. In recent weeks, he has been dozing quietly on a cozy blanket on the couch.

I dreamed I heard him meowing at 3 in the morning which was his time to sit on the bathroom sink and vocalize.

I saw him in the yellow tulips that had been planted at the Legion hall close by, just beneath the stone cross with the epitaph: Lest We Forget.

He also lives on in Molly Midnight, who has now started to sleep with us on "Genji's pillow".
