My daughter and her husband had to make that dreadful decision to let their GS mix go last night. Buddy was a big dufus of a dog who thought everyone came to see him. He was rescued after spending the first 6 years of his life chained outside and spent the last 8 - 9 years living the best life any dog could hope for. Buddy had had a small stroke a few weeks ago and had another last night. They decided not to put him through any more and let him go on to the Bridge.

It's particularly hard because they recently lost their boy cat, Montgomery, to heart failure (unexpected and sudden) so to lose Buddy now is beyond painful for them.

I know they could use any prayers you might offer for them and for Buddy. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.

Thanks - it seems like I've been asking for a lot of prayers lately . . .

How very sad for them to lose two dear pets close together.  He sounded like a wonderful, very lucky boy dog, and I'm sure they will miss him for a long time.  I'm sending prayers to them in this hard time.

Oh catmom, all your family has been having a tough time of it lately.  Im so sorry to read this.  I wish there was more we could do.  Please share my thoughts and prayers with your daughter.  Although Buddy had such an awful start to his life Im so glad to know that he had your daughter and her husband to help make up for that and show him what its supposed to be like in a caring, loving family.  Godspeed dear Buddy

Sending my condolences to your daughter and her husband at this sad event.  May they be blessed forever for the wonderful kindness they showed this poor dog who had such a tough start in life.  It is the nature of life to have an ending, but it is never easy for those who love someone to see them go.

I will light a candle in Buddy's memory.

What a wonderful thing they did taking Buddy and giving him a super life with them. May he be waiting for them along with Montgomery til they meet up again.

How very sad. They made a very compassionate decision, as painful as it was. I really hope they can get through it by remembering all the good times. Godspeed buddy, go find your friend, Montgomery and be happy again.

Sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of Buddy.  I am sure that Buddy was greeted at the Bridge by Montgomery and they are again playing together happy and well.
