Peg,
I am so sorry for your loss.  I feel like I knew Giz myself after reading about his journey here for so long.  My thoughts are with you as you bring him home today.

Welcome home, Gizmo. I know I felt a huge sense of relief when I brought Dexter Louise's ashes home. She was home with me where she belongs ~ and I found that very comforting. I hope that you also feel at peace once Gizmo is home with you.
Blessings

Peg- Today should be a happy day. Gizmo is home with his family and watching over all of you. One thing I have found that brings cheerful thoughts is to plant something in memory. You will need to wait for the weather to cooperate, but think about a good place in the meantime. Then when you are in the garden, you can think of all the good times with Giz.

What a great idea - a tree for Gizmo.  Maybe where it can be seen
from his favorite window.  What do you think, Peg?

You ALL are truly amazing and I thank you.
Gizmo is home and for some reason I feel better.
Lesliek and catmom5 you were right.  It's strange how I was sobbing my eyes out on the way to get him, but once back in the car for the trip home a wave of calm came over me.

Gizmo had a passion for the sunbeams, and used to follow them around the house.  This is even way before he got sick.  I was out today and saw a cat suncatcher with the kitty in a window.  I brought it home and hung it in the window that got the most sun and was his favorite.

The plant in memory is a wonderful idea and I thank you lesliek.  I am truly looking forward to the spring and I am scouring gardening catalogs for some ideas.  The planting shall be outside his favorite window-thanks rom6!

That's wonderful, Peg.  I always feel better when my fur kids are back home where they belong.

I don't think I will ever forget you, Gizmo - nor forget your meowmie's brave and inspiring fight for you.

Peg, Even though 6 months have passed, I'll bet it feels just like yesterday.

Peg,
Hoping that time heals your heart, but Gizmo's memories will always remain there.

Your love for him is still with you, and his spirit is still loving you in a sacred place somewhere.
