I feel everyone here knows Gizmo, MaincoonPeg's BIG kitty and has followed his battle with multiple issues... Today, Gizmo has consented to go with the angels... up, up, up to the Rainbow Bridge, where he is Magestic, young , strong and forever healthy again... But there is a Big hole in MaincoonPeg's heart who will miss him desperately. Please send prayers and thoughts of grace and strength to our dear Peg.
Peg, truly, my heart is weeping although I know that Gizmo is in a far better place right now and waiting for you.

Oh, dear Peg, Giz has gone Home and is there waiting without pain, healthy, strong, and free to give you head-butts. I know how hard you fought and what good care you gave. Prayers for you and your family, including Giz.

Peg, This is a favorite poem of mine. I hope it's message will bring you as much comfort in your time of sorrow as it did me. Gizmo will always be there in your heart.
THE ROSE BEYOND THE WALL
Near a shady wall a rose once grew, Budded and blossomed in God's free light, Watered and fed by the morning dew, Shedding it's sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength With never a thought of fear or pride, It followed the light through the crevice's length And unfolded itself on the other side.
The light, the dew, the broadening view Were found the same as they were before, And it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing it's fragrance more and more.
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our courage faint and fall? Nay! Let us faith and hope receive-- The rose still grows beyond the wall, Scattering fragrance far and wide Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forevermore.
~ A. L. Frink ~

Peg my brother sent me the same poem after our mother passed on. Was not til I was older did I grasp the meaning of these eloquent words. May it bring peace and comfort to you. Gizmo is at peace now.

We were on this journey with you and Giz because you let us----we are still on this journey with you now-
--Into The West Artist:Annie Lennox
Lay down, your sweet and weary head. Night is falling. You have come to journey’s end.
Sleep now,and dream of the ones who came before. They are calling, from across a distant shore.
Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see. All of your fears will pass away. Safe in my arms, you’re only sleeping.
What can you see, on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises. The ships have come, to carry you home.
And all will turn, to silver glass. A light on the water. All souls pass.
Hope fades, Into the world of night. Through shadows falling, Out of memory and time.
Don’t say, We have come now to the end. White shores are calling. You and I will meet again. And you’ll be here in my arms, Just sleeping.
What can you see, on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises. The ships have come, to carry you home.
And all will turn, to silver glass. A light on the water. Grey ships pass Into the West.

Here is a poem from the PetLoss website that has been helpful to many, and seems to me to fit Gizmo especially:
Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit Are you ready to come home? Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul And, as a cat, you know I am most able To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God. Soon, replied the whiskered angel But I must come slowly For my human friends are troubled For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God That you'll never leave them? That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity? That nothing is created or destroyed? It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand, Replied the glorious cat For I will whisper into their hearts That I am always with them I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Peg,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Gizmo was part of our family, too. He will be missed.

Peg, I am sorry for Your loss. Since I have been on here I have met many people who have come to mean so much to Me. It is like a family here. And when something like this happens we all grieve. We are Grieving with You right now, and our hearts are heavy. Please take care of Yourself. that's what Giz would have wanted.

Peg, I am so sorry for you loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She Is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she's gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and lose your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Gizmo was both sweet and brave. His story was familiar to me as I have seen many like that, and there are so many I am missing, too. I'm so sorry, Peg, I hope you can take comfort in his presence in your heart forever.

Come To Me God saw you were getting tired When a cure was not to be So He closed His arms around you And wispered "come to Me".
You didn't deserve the suffering and so He gave you rest God's garden must be beautiful He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping So peaceful and free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again.
God's speed Giz
