District of Columbia-Washington DC-

http://www.warl.org/about/directions.php

Washington Animal Rescue League
71 Oglethorpe Street, NW
Washington, DC 20011
Medical Center: 202-726-CARE (2273)

http://www.warl.org/about/medicalcenter.php

The Washington Animal Rescue League opened its Medical Center in 1996 to treat shelter animals and provide full-service, low-cost veterinary care to the pets of low-income neighbors. It sees nearly 7,000 dogs and cats each year.

What Services Are Available At The Medical Center?

The Medical Center provides routine physical exams, vaccines, spaying and neutering, other surgeries, emergency care, dental work, and treatment of diseases and injuries.

The Medical Center holds a special low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic every Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00. Vaccinations for rabies, canine distemper/parvovirus (DHPP), feline "distemper" (FVRCP), canine bordatella (“kennel cough”), and feline leukemia cost $10 each.   No appointments are necessary and there is no limit as to how many animals an individual can bring to the clinic.  Microchips are also available for $25.

Who Can Use the Medical Center?

The Medical Center accepts appointments from income-qualified residents of the District of Columbia. If interested, call the clinic at 202-726-CARE for a means test. All clinic patients must be spayed or neutered, but the Medical Center can arrange to have this done free of charge for clients who qualify for financial assistance.

How do I contact the Medical Center?

Please call (202) 726-CARE for an appointment.

The Love Fund

The Washington Animal Rescue League's Love Fund provides funding support for emergency care for seriously injured animals who are abandoned or live with low-income residents in our community who cannot afford the costs of major surgery.
