Hi KimS and everyone,
Sorry this post is so long... I just got on a roll!
I'm new here, just found the Itchmo forums today. I have 6 kitties (5 who are crf) and one dog. I've been searching too for home cooked recipes for my crf cats who won't eat the raw. I haven't found anything either. I have 3 who do eat raw, but 3 others who won't touch it. I've tried for years to get them to eat it, and it's just never going to happen with them. Now that 2 of those canned food eaters are CRF now too, I'm trying to find cooked crf recipes for them, but haven't been successful at all.
I know the raw is their natural food, but when you have 16 year old cats who have eaten nothing but canned and dry all their lives, they just don't recognize raw food as being food at all.

I've tried all the tricks to get them to eat it, but it's not happening. I really want to find cooked recipes for my crf kitties too. I'm so disheartened and frustrated with all the pet food companies since the recall. I write to them and they won't answer my questions about their foods. They won't tell me WHO makes their foods. If they're not made by one of the companies involved in the recalls, then WHY won't they tell me who makes their foods!??? It makes me suspicious that they're hiding something, so I don't even want to buy any canned foods anymore. I really want to make my own.
Right now we're feeding one of our crf kitties Felidae and PetGuard Organic Chicken, the other kitty is eating Precise... but Precise is made by Menu Foods, and that creeps me out. The PetGuard people won't tell me who makes their food. The Felidae my cat doesn't like very much, but it's really hard to find low phosphorus foods for the crf cats when almost all the companies that make low phos foods use Menu Foods to make their foods. I just don't want ANY food made by Menu now, so I really want to not feed the Precise either.
I'm a member of 3 CRF groups, but none of them really talk about home cooking. They're good for support though. The one that Joanne (LadyWillow) mentioned is a huge list, lots of knowledgeable folks there. They mostly support doing allopathic treatments. There are two others that are smaller groups that I found and they talk about using some holistic things too. Unfortunately I haven't seen much talk about home cooking on any of the groups. Here are the other two groups you might want to look into for help.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Caring-for-CRF-Felines/http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/felinecrf/Here are a couple of sites with charts that show protein and phosphorus levels of various foods. Some of the newer foods aren't on them (like By Nature Organics and the PetGuard Organic Chicken canned), but they have many others listed...unfortunately many of the foods on the charts are recalled too... so there's not much to choose from. That's how we've kinda settled on the Felidae, Precise and PetGuard for now. I'm still trying to figure out how to calculate the phos levels in canned foods. I haven't been able to find that out yet. I called the company who makes By Nature Organics, but the numbers they told me for the phosphorus content of their foods didn't make sense to me. The lady who did the chart on "Janet and Binky's" site has a formula to figure out the phos content, and after I did it, the phos content of the By Nature Organics was too high for crf cats. It's supposedly needs to be below 250 mg per 100 kcal. I'm not sure what kcal means either!

Here are the links to the food charts.

I'm just really getting scared that I can't find appropriate food to feed my two old girls who have crf, and what I'm feeding them may be making them worse. Anyone who has any cooked food recipes for crf cats or links to any recipes, please post them.
I hope some of this info is helpful.
