Hi, I saw on TV last night that Rachael Ray, one of the Food Network stars, is having a show next Saturday called Feeding Her Pets, I think....might be interesting to see.  Thought Id mention it in case others want to take a look-see at it.

Thanks! I just ordered a WP food processor off of HSN...getting ready slowly to home cook &  I'll be watching RR Smiley to see what she does.

This whole thing has made me painfully aware of my lack of cooking, lack of cooking tools and subsequent take out and what it's impact is on me too.. Now, I want the slow cooker, the pressure cooker, the compact convection oven to replace the microwave, the green pans.. lolol.. when pigs fly.. or win the lottery Smiley  Oh, yeah and a new refrig w/freezer .. sigh.

Offy, you might as well add to that wish list, new flooring, new countertops, new sink.  All would go very well with those new kitchen tools!  lol   Wink

Thanks for the tip. should be an interesting show. Nice to see  that preparing pet meals will be discussed , Not an everyday topic. Wonder how many folks will watch. It will be interesting to see what ingredients she uses and if it is for both cats and dogs.thanks!

Offy slow cookers you can be quite creative with and you just put the food in, add a lil water, cover it and let it cook. So simple and convenient too.

If you are east coast, the show is on.  Visiting a pet food company, Evangers.

Wow, good show.  Watch even if you do not want to cook or raw feed  your pets.

kathy clicked the link and a couple of the recipes she's having on contain grains and one uses baby cow-veal and if anyone knows how they keep those poor animals contained in the dark in padded pens so they can't move or lay down, kept in the dark who would even think about eating veal-and could these be from downer cows these calves? Watched a special yrs ago on public broadcasting network and could never eat veal again after seeing that.

For anybody who missed it, she talked about the Pet Food Recall!

She also toured the Evanger's facility and one of the places where they purchase ingredients locally, talked with owners and a man who purchases their ingredients locally.  We saw the mixing of ingredients, adding supplements, canning (including cooking in can), the whole assembly process.  They even showed foods that were hand packed in cans (whole fish).

She talked with a holistic vet.  Talked about cat food and carnivores versus omnivores.  Talked about sharing your own food with your dog.  Talked about raw feeding.

She visited the original Three Dog Bakery in CT and other dog-friendly sites.

I'm going to watch it again as I missed some of it.
