Please contact CNNMoney about the irresponsible portrayal of hybrid cats, (and pets in general), as faddish objects in this article.

How much is the kitty in the window? $22,000
Forget about Labradoodles, Puggles and Schnoodles. Costly crossbreed felines are the latest designer hybrid to hit the catwalk.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Goodbye Goldendoodle. Designer dogs are so last season. Now animal lovers are clamoring for cat crossbreeds -- and they are sparing no expense on the latest "it" pet.....

More lavish loot
http://money.cnn.com/lifestyle/index.html

...

Holly Hummel, who has been breeding hybrids for 20 years, says demand for exotic blends is growing, and the pricier the pet, the more sought after it seems.

"The more expensive ones move faster than the less expensive ones," Hummel said.

...That means pet owners can rest assured that their investment in a designer cat will not disappoint - that is until the next hot mix hits the horizon.

 Angry

Its on yahoo news too.  I thought the so called Ashera Cat is just a very big Savannah.

I guess there are just some people who like to have these very expensive breeds as a status symbol.

Wnder what would appen if these expensive cats were poisoned by tainted petfood?  Has anyone heard of such a thing happening last year?

I don't know if there were hybrid victims.  There could have been since they are living creatures, not fads or "loot" as CNNMoney put it, nor luxury cars to "move" off a lot as the breeder put it.

I forgot the contact link and added it now.

As tacky as this article is, I am afraid it is for real.  I don't usually read CNNMoney, but saw the article on Yahoo and then found the source.  CNNMoney also promotes the Rent-a-Dog company.  When I wrote them, it wasn't the designer cats themselves I objected to, but the irresponsible journalism that portrayed them as objects.  It was too tacky and that mindset is what leads to so much misery for animals.

I checked out Snopes and maybe this is what the hoax is that is circulating on the cat sites.  (It is pretty funny.)

Klondike, I didn't mean a hoax that way. sorry. I meant it in the way She displays the cats.
She has a website. i'll find it if it isn't mentioned on CNN.
It just makes Me mad because rich people will think this is another wonderful "posession" to have. Not a live wonderful pet to give love to.
I once had a lady who wanted one of My bengals to match Her daughters room. just a certain color. I told Her i wasn't interested. There are a lot of people like that out there.
