Since I couldn't get on Itchmo, I had to pay attention to the rest of the world for a little while. My neighborhood.
Those of you who know Me know that this is driving Me crazy/ I had already called PAWS to come and get all my pet bowls, I had a huge amount. and I gave them a bunch of mugs I make with dogs and cats on them. They are having some charity event. So that was good.
Then all of a sudden the guy next door tells My husband He has seen a mother cat and kittens in the woods, somewhere? And I have seen strange cats out back again.
then the woman on the other side of us, next door has a whole bunch of cats up there. Some are preg. and some are limping, one has a horrible scar on Her back. They will all be preg soon.
I wonder what i should do? I have to do something about this, it's driving Me crazy. Should I talk to Her and somehow get the kittens and take them to PAWS , but then the poor females will just get preg. again. I can't keep anymore, and I can't afford to "fix" anymore. But this can't keep going on. most of the people on this road don't even like animals. So, i don't know where all these cats are coming from. The Toms are out tomming Huh And I don't know who owns them either. So far, everyone says- Not mine.
If I could just win the lottery Grin then I could take care of them.

It's hard to keep up with it all in the spring. It's a very busy time for shelters and wildlife centres. If I were a vet, I'd be down in your area with my mobile spay/neuter van.

Trudy I don't know if this will help you but I found the organization "Operation Catnip", located mainly in Raleigh, NC, on a list of rescue groups in Cat Fancy magazine.

www.operationcatnip.org

I looked at the website myself and they are apparently a TNR group, and also have an office in Richmond, VA. Maybe if they can't help you they will know someone in your area who can?  I don't know anything about this group, only what I saw on the website. There's an e-mail address you can use to contact them. Maybe someone you know in cat rescue would have had expereince with them and could tell you something about them(?)

I sympathize with you on this, our current finances don't allow us to help alter any more animals either, although in the past we rescued, vetted, altered and placed in homes, more cats (and a few dogs) than I can count. Even the low cost spay/neuter programs are out of the question for us now. Fortunately there are far fewer animals abandoned in my area than there used to be, so none have shown up on our doorstep lately.
