The original page is no longer on the Wysong website, but you can view it here:

Our cats used the Wysong dry without problems for years - until Oscar-mr-kibble-only needed to go off grain and eat more wet food when he became diabetic.. That's the main problem I had with their kibble food, like most of the stuff out there, it is the grains, the carbs.

whoops - didn't look at the date on the original post...  Embarrassed

Regardless, glad I read it - hadn't seen this one...   Tongue

It was strange alright. See whats happened is the Pet Food Industry knows the free ride is over and the days of blind belief in whatever they happen to be selling is finished.

That's life and if they can't deal with it they shouldn't be in the business.

Well the latest on Wysong, who pioneered probiotics to aid nutrition in their products is big bad ol' Nestle Purina is trying to mess with them.

Don't know what the status is of this.

The suits are related to a technology invented by Dr. R. L. Wysong in the early 1980s to enrobe pet and human foods with probiotics – health-giving organisms such as found in yogurt. Although Wysong’s company did not seek a patent, it has used the technology in both animal and human foods since the early 1980s.

Nestle/Purina obtained a patent granted in 1999 for the same technology. To this date, however, Purina has not incorporated probiotics in its own products. Instead, it is attempting to prevent Wysong and other companies from enrobing dry extruded petfoods with probiotics unless a licensing fee is paid to Purina, according to Wysong.

Needless to say I'm supporting Wysong on this outright theft and extortion game Purinas trying to play.

I support Wysong in this too. Wish that they had moved on a patent earlier. I have long lost respect for Nestle Purina anyhow.

Yeah.  Not right what Purina is trying to do.  I hope Wysong wins.

We have a thread on the Wysong vs. Purina situation for anyone interested in refreshing their memory of what it is about.
