If every upset pet owner joined Twitter and stuck a hash tag of #ChemNutra on their 140 character post, well, maybe at least the #pets #dogs #cats community would be aware of this animal abuse, larger than Michael Vick's, that made big splash on Twitter. Just a thought to vent what's coming

I am sickened by this decision, but, as others have said, it was what I expected.

I hope I haven't confused things.
The sentence has not been handed out yet Sunday, August 23, 2009. That's only the recommendation of the US Attorney's Office that prosecuted the case in the Western District of Missiouri to the sentencing judge in the District Court of the Western District of Missouri. The judge does not have to follow that recommendation.
Does that clear up the hope, however small, that the judge may be more severe when he actually sentences the Millers and ChemNutra?
thank you, Robert, for Tweet

the recommended fine is less than just the vet bills of just itchmo members who were unlucky enough to serve the poison to their unsuspecting loved family members....makes me sick to my stomach...and sad in my heart.... maybe I should have sent the letter to the DA's office to read first....

So right Carol, we spent over $6000.00. Although I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant trying to save our KiKi, that equals about 6 people spending the same amount of money and I know there was more than that and I know some spent even more than we did and are still putting out money for their surviving kitties that are battling the effects of the toxins in the food. Holding out hope that the judge will view it differently in light of the letters that many sent to him, but its slim hope at best. And dont get me wrong, the money is not the issue but its the whole picture of it being viewed as not a big deal that they have presented in the recommendation of light fines and no jail time. If there was a choice between fines and jail time, I would vote for jailtime for both of them, no doubt in my mind.

Disgusting is all I can say that is fit for public viewing. Are they forgetting that this could just have easily been in the human food supply? Would the outcome be different if it was?
Oh wait! It was! Hogs and chickens were fed melamine laced feed weren't they? But 2 years later I forget which supplier the hog and chicken feed came through. Anyone remember? And what about the farmed fish feed?

I'm trying really hard to keep it in perspective. Some days, easier than others.
Take it from me that the Millers live in a really nice neighborhood, that they're still in business.
I've never added up the profits from all 11 I think it was contaminated shipments, but ChemNutra was a million dollar-plus company.
Then remember that there's almost 6,000 people who die every year from food poisoning and over 76-million cases of illness. And ask yourself what has ever been done to stop that.
