Purina Pet Food Animal By-Product Lawsuit Filed
Susan Thixton

The law firm Call, Jensen & Ferrell announce a Class Action Complaint against Purina Pet Foods and Petco pet store.  The suit, based on “unjust enrichment” and “fraud” was filed September 3, 2009 in the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles.  

Summary:
“Nestlé Purina PetCare Company market and sell the “Purina Pro Plan Selects Formula” brand of dry pet food ...

Unpleasant as the description is, this lawsuit at least covers dogs and cats. The ingredient claim again is very
specific. Whether anyone purchasing outside of California can be included, I don't know.

Purina Naturals have been one of the rotations of kibble my cats are eating - and doing well on. Now what? I have to be very particular because CJ needs low phosphorus foods and won't eat the prescription diets. @#%%$#@@$#%!!!!!

Well here's something those folks missed -- wonder if I should email the law firm. The label claims "...no artificial colors or flavors."

Well, we all know that anything that is destined for the pet food industry must be denatured by either a coloring agent or activated charcoal, so there's another potentially false claim.

Hopefully this will stop the misleading wording on packages & even more misleading commercials ! Beneful for instance.
