This is an email I received from my sister this morning. If you would be kind enough to either contact the mayor/clerk or crosspost, please do so. The lives of family pets could very well hang in the balance.

Good morning,

I read in Sunday’s Detroit Free Press about the city of Warren, Michigan considering BSL {pit bulls of course} as an option to protect their citizens against attacks by vicious dogs after a pit bull attacked a small dog in March.  If anyone is interested in sending an email to the mayor and clerk of Warren to ask them to please consider options other than BSL I have their emails listed below.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this.

What does bsl mean?

Breed-specific legislation (BSL) bans or restrictions on certain types of dogs because they are perceived as “dangerous” breeds or types.

The real problem of course is not the breed it is the OWNER.

We've had animal control deal with aggressive dog situations no matter how many fines, warnings, visits, the owner JUST DOESN'T "GET IT".

Then the animal get's hauled off and impounded, and all because the human is irresponsible and caused the problem to begin with.

They just tried to pass the same resolution here in Hawaii, but pet owners rallied and it was defeated. It would have been a crime to own a pitbull, even if you had it before the law!
