From the ADAM topic here, some wondered about a national database that recorded animal cruelty/torture...   SHIBADIVA provided the link, which does have a flourishing registry (Adam's story is in it)

Animal Abuse Registry Database Administration System (AARDAS)

Here is the link to the sponsors (always important to know if the money that supports it is itself subject to 'compromise' - FWIW, so far I don't see any...

If anyone witnesses animal cruelty they can go here to help start a case (we know the local law enforcement for these matters have their hands full, and tied in many cases)...

They an interesting section on reporting Cruel Websites:

"The Internet is one of our most powerful tools in combatting animal cruelty, educating the public and exchanging ideas with other animal advocates.  Unfortunately, the ever-increasing popularity of the Internet also makes it very easy for criminals and those that find humor in animal cruelty to spread their message. On the Animal Abuse Redux thread, Paul Soderholm was the abuser who left his rottweiler in his SUV in hot weather. The dog was near death when it was rescued.

Mr. Soderholm now has the dubious honour of being in the database.

The database update was done within minutes of emailing the updated material. You can make a difference by keeping people informed.

I think it was MrsP who, on another thread, said, wouldn't you like to know if there was an animal abuser living on your street?

A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.
