Title: Wellness wet cat food
Post by: catmom5 on January 08, 2018, 06:28:02 AM
When I opened a can of food for Cody this morning I found a very disturbing white covering over the food. Beef and chicken pate. Took a photo and sent to Wellness. Don't know how to attach a photo here. Be aware.

Hi catmom5

I have some of the cans Beef Chicken Pate.

What is the code on the bottom of the can re best before date and the plant ID number

from which it was manufactured

I'll keep my cans aside until you hear back from Wellness.

Thanks for posting

I haven't been using canned cat food anymore, but a white "speckling" on the Wellness beef and chicken pate was something we had fairly often - often enough for me to remember that it happened.  Come to think it, I think this has also happened on other brands' canned beef products.  I'm not sure if this is what yours had, but it appeared to me to be saturated fat that had hardened over the surface of the beef.  Still, it will be good to hear what Wellness says in case it's not the same as what we used to experience.

Should have remembered to photograph all that information. Took the can to Petco and the manager was going to talk with the representative. Haven't heard back from Wellness. Sorry

With Cody being 18+, I simply did not want to take any chances at all. We've been down that road before.
