Title: Boreal Pet Food
Post by: Chef G on July 08, 2013, 03:28:59 PM
Has anyone tried this food?  It is made in Canada but is available in the USA as well.  It is quite new.  Sounds like it might be worth a try.  I have ordered a bag of the dry cat food...and have a can here to try.  I guess the boys will let me know what they think.  Here is the company/food info:

Peas are the 3rd ingredient in all flavors . Oreo can't do peas , so not on the menu soon here . There were a couple of iffy ingredients but overall it looks good . Have you asked where it's made ?

The canned food is produced in British Columbia, Canada and the dry is made in Ontario, Canada.  Just curious...which ingredients seem strange to you?

I didn't mean weird , just that fruits & veggies & green tea aren't really known to be beneficial to cats [in the dry food ]. I sometimes use a little in homemade , but not always .
On the where it's made question , I meant who makes it . Do they have their own facilities or is it made in another pet food manufacturer & who is that .Or a human food factory . Something you need to know in case of a recall of something else made there because of possible cross contamination .
Overall it looks decent , I just wouldn't use it without rotating other foods in that don't contain all the extras .

Yeah I will try to get the info from the company.  The canned food is a "no go"....which I thought might happen since my guys don't like canned food that contains fish.  As for the dry....I like the fact of the blueberries and cranberries....I use cranberry powder now since one of the boys had a urinary issue.  Since starting the cranberry no more problems!!  I will use it along with the other dry (providing the boys eat it).  I also use Redmoon dry food.  Thanks for your input.

If you have urinary issues the cranberries & blueberries may be a plus . Remember if they have issues with them , you can always try adding D-mannose instead.
