The mission of Spay Neuter Idaho Pets, Inc. (SNIP) is to reduce animal overpopulation by establishing and maintaining reduced-cost spay/neuter services for dogs, domestic cats and feral cat trap-neuter-return programs. We plan to promote humane education through schools and community outreach programs and develop a mobile spay/neuter service for underserved Idaho locations. By collaborating with local animal welfare organizations and veterinarians on these activities, we will leverage resources and expand and accelerate our impacts. We will primarily serve Ada and Canyon counties, but will accept animals from other counties as availability permits. Our focus is to serve feral cats and pets whose owners cannot afford spay/neuter services. The reduced-cost fees for clinic services will offset operating costs. Public donations and grants will help to subsidize the surgeries that pet owners cannot afford to pay.

We maintain a special program to help people cover the cost of spaying and neutering their pets.  This program is funded entirely by donations.  There are no income limits to qualify for assistance, we simply ask that people use this program only if they truly need the help.   Additionally, if you have some change to spare to this program, look for our donation banks on store counters all over Moscow.  All funding for this program comes directly from those banks.

This is a coupon program open to all residents of Latah County.  We give you a coupon good for money off the price of a spay or neuter.  This coupon can be used at any veterinary hospital in Latah County.

The Animal Shelter is committed to reducing pet overpopulation through an active community spay/neuter program. The shelter offers weekly no cost spay/neuter clinics to pet owners in Blaine County throughout the year.  Animals as young as 8 weeks can participate in the clinics. The ASWRV endorses early spay / neuter practices, in accordance with the recommendations of the AVMA. Early spay and neuter is a safe and effective way to help reduce pet overpopulation.

On the day of surgery we ask that animals arrive between 8 and 9am. We ask that you not feed your pet breakfast unless previously specified. Most animals are discharged between 3 and 5 pm. You will receive a phone call once surgery is complete to update you on your pet as well as to set up a pick up time.

While there is no fee for the clinic, we do ask for a donation to help cover our costs. Below is a breakdown of what our costs are per animal:

Female Dog Spay: $65

Male Dog Neuter: $45

Female Cat Spay:$45

Male Cat Neuter: $25

Any portion of this cost that you can reimburse helps ensure that we can continue to provide this service for the residents of the Wood River Valley.
