Some of you know I adopted long distance two 15 month old kittens ... Both HAVE a long history , they had a rough start but all seemed good for awhile .... WELL on has blood in his urine and a high ph of 7 ... Please send vibes this is just a little glitch .... OH and any links on PH are welcome ... he DOES NOT have a UTI just high ph , blood and high white cell count He also no longer can have his fav wet foods as they have grain.. wish me luck on getting them to eat raw

Sharky, Sorry to hear PJ is under the weather. I'm struggling with similar issues with one of my fur babies. May our vets be able to figure out what's wrong with our kits...and help us restore their health quickly. Good vibes coming PJs direction!

Sharky, sending positive vibes for your PJ. I went through a very high pH and super high specific gravity with my Rufus. Took a few months to resolve......he had no infection what so ever..........but he is doing wonderfully. I took him off dry food completely and we had a drop in pH from 8.0 to 7.2 in a little more than a week. Added filtered water to his wet food and that helped some more. Dog grass also reduced the pH and helped with reduction of bladder inflamation. pH is now 6.8 and specific gravity is down a bit. Rufus was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis without bacterial infection via biopsy. http://www.herbalextractsplus.com/dog-grass.cfm

Sorry to hear PJ is having so much trouble. Would the higher pH and blood in urine indicate possible formation of struvite crystals? Often it is the dry food with grains that drive up the pH and cause those crystals to form. One of my cats had this problem repeatedly until I put him on all canned food with water added. Good luck to you in figuring it out, and to PJ on getting better!

sharky- Sending prayers and positive thoughts for PJ. Those symptoms are remarkably similar to my chi's.I just ordered a liquid form of couch grass[with other urinary herbs] called tinkle tonic. Its for dogs and cats & I got it from www.mountainroseherbs.com .I haven't tried it yet,Remy needs a retest first for ph levels. I ordered it on 8/04 & it came yesterday,its $8.90 for a 1 oz bottle.Dosage is 10-20 drops 1-3x daily for cats or 20-30 for dogs.The higher dosage is for larger animals & the x daily determined by severity of the problem.

Sharky,
I hope you can figure out what is ailing PJ and find the appropriate food for PJ. Poor kitties. {{{hugs}}}
All I could think of was stones, crystals. It did remind me of Peg's Rufus.
Bless you for adopting them in addition to those you already have. Prayers for your kitties.

Sending good vibes and positive thoughts for poor PJ! I thought of crystals or stones first, too, but then realized that interstitial cystitis would be another possible explanation. I hope you can get that pH down. I know what a struggle it can be to get cats to eat different foods.
