He is on the iv drip again, hopefully he will feel better once he is hydrated. I hope he can get home on wed, so we'll have a few days at home before he needs to get back to hospital during my trip. He seems quite relaxed there, he was calmly sitting on the examination table while the vet was petting him while we talked about the options for meds, going to go for as many injectAbles while he is on drip and minimize oral meds to reduce stress. We will only do blood test to monitor hct, no point doing the kidney values at this stage, just keep him comfortable for as long as he is willing to fight. Even though he was obviously feeling bad snd he lost lots of weight, he is still walking, jumping, scratching etc.

He was a lot worse when I saw him last night, and no improvement by this morning.

I've taken afternoon and tomorrow off, will go see him in hospital this afternoon, plan is to keep him on the drip till evening and see if he bounds back, if yes continue, if not bring him home overnight and then the vet will come tomorrow morning.

It is such a sudden decline, from jumping up with no problem to not getting up at all  Cry

How fast this is happening makes it harder for you, but honestly it's much better for him not to suffer longer as he slowly declines . I know how hard this is , sending hugs and support  Kiss Cry

We had to let him go this evening. I spent afternoon with him, most of the time his eys were vacant and  when that would change and he was fulkyaware he would just howl. He seemed thirstybut didnt know how to drink anymore, would meow and struggle towards water bowl and just sit there, i would try to help him and put some water on his nosethen he would try to drink but above water surface so wouldnt drink anythingand just meow.

I am so very sorry, alek0.  Cry Cry He had your love and strength and caring all his life and he loved you so very much too. That will never fade. You did everything you could, and you were always there for him. I wish I could take away the heartache and the pain. Thinking of you with love.

I am so sorry that you have lost Stefie.  You were devoted and committed to helping him until the end, and he loved you for that.  He will now be watching over you and the others from the Bridge and awaiting a joyful reunion in the future.  Rest in peace, sweet Angel Stefie.  {{hugs}}, Alek.   Cry   Cry   Cry

Alek, I am so very sorry to hear that the time came for you to let Stefie go. He knew how much you loved him. And although it is so hard, you gave him the final act of love, in giving him freedom from suffering. You were so close to him, and thus knew exactly the right moment.

 Cry Cry Cry

He was such a character. I will always remember your photos of him, and especially the way he gave new hairstyles to the others!

Sending you many warm thoughts and wishes for peace. May you find comfort and healing for your sorrow.

Thank you everyone. He was a very sweet boy and I miss him terribly.

He was my faithful alarm clock, he used to meow back when you call his name, he liked to just sit near and blink, then i blink back and he'd blink again and he'd look so happy from just that. But when he really wanted attention, he could get quite vocal and keep grabbing my hand to continue petting him.
