Glad to hear she's home & .. restricted Sad  sigh, right, it's a cat. (ETA: You might think about a crate/cage like JM has her kitties in for limiting Sophers activity)

I was worried about a ruptured cruciate ligament. (Yup, worry wart here, once had a dog, Dingo, have one... & it's the main reason Scooter aka Miss NoGrace, doesn't have many launching places.)

Did he give you any tranquilizers?

Heck Offy, who needs tranquilizers when one has a friend called Jim Beam...LOL  Just kidding, I barely  drink.....well at least I didnt use to....hiccup.  Grin

Sandi,

That's great.  Glad the vet didn't think she needed more tests.

Very good to hear that it's just a mild sprain.  I am so relieved.  But good luck at keeping her from running or jumping for a week!   Shocked

Glad to hear its not serious ! Did he give you sleeping pills for her ? That or a large crate sound like the only way she is going to rest.

Sandi, I stick my Tarzan imitator, Smorgi, in the small bathroom with water, box, and bed
when she throws out a leg "running through the jungle." There's not much to jump off there.
Just put a sign on the door that says Guantanamo to remind everyone (DH) not to let her
out, and after some protesting, Smorgi just basically gets bored and falls asleep. Not exactly
what you want to do to Sophers, but after a couple of days usually fixes up my little lady
who refuses to acknowledge any limitations.

Sandi,
Sorry to hear about Sophers sprain.  I hope it heals quickly.  I know it is difficult to keep a cat down who wants to run and play.  But, as hard as it is, we sometimes have to do what is best for them when they won't do it for themselves.  Wink   Confining her in one room without any high areas to jump is one option.  A nice safe playpen cage is another.  For the future, maybe you can discourage her getting to some of the really high areas by removing her as soon as she gets up.  I know that might sound easier said than done, but it beats having her hurt herself really bad.  Good luck!   Smiley

3cat, I will have to remember that bathroom trick for Phantom, who also tries to fly down from 7 feet up and has had several vet visits for sprains and the like.

One of the things I've done to make Phantom a little safer is to make sure that all high shelves have things arranged on them so that she can't get up there.  Doesn't do wonders for the decor, but it has helped keep her a little safer.  Maybe that would slow Sophers down a little?
