Bad day - not interested in eating or drinking anything, won't play, sitting in meatloaf position on a bed . . . have contacted his hospice vet, but would appreciate your support. Seems comfortable - gave him buprenorphine just in case he's in pain, but this is so not who he is. I'm scared that I'm losing him.
Thanks

I'm hoping that he will bounce back and that you'll have plenty more bonus time, catmom5. But if that is not to be, please know that we are all here for you. You both remain in my thoughts at this time.

Catmom5, I am sooo sorry to hear about Buffy.  I pray he will perk up again.
As you know, I am in exactly the same position. My Tigger will not eat and will not let me give him something either.   So I sympathize with you totally and understand your feelings.  I wish I could do something or give you a miraculous solution that would heal Buffy, but lamentably I cannot.  If I could, I would give my Tigger the same miraculous healing, but alas......
You have my prayers that he will suddenly decide to eat for you, and that this is just a temporary setback.
I so wish I could have a hospice vet too

I'm sorry to read this.  It's good to hear that he seems comfortable and my fingers are crossed that he'll be eating and drinking and being his normal self as soon as possible.  I'm sending many good thoughts to you.

I hope Buffy is just having temporary nausea and will regain his appetite, catmom.  My thoughts & prayers are with you and him that it's not time yet.

Buffy update (aka Lazarus)

While I was talking with the hospice vet yesterday, Buffy had a terrible poop (like dark chocolate syrup) and then seemed to start to feel a bit better. He's much more himself today. He isn't eating much, but some. I split a can of Friskies between Buffy and Cody this morning and he ate maybe 1/2 of the half. I was pretty convinced that it was his time, but I guess he has other ideas. He's not real energetic today, but I'm wondering if the Iams chicken (wet) that he seemed to like didn't agree with him (majorly). Guess it's back to the store for different foods again. In the meantime we do have others to choose from!

Thanks for all of your support and prayers.
