Skeeter

« on: April 22, 2010, 07:23:09 AM »

Hello,

Thank you all for your prayers during Skeeters bout with Pancreatitis.  However, he is no longer responding to medication, daily fluids etc., and I have made the very hard decision to set him free today.

I feel like I have put him through so much, and I often wonder why I did it, when the outcome comes to this, and he is in such bad shape now.

Thank you for being here, and letting me express my sorrow.

Sending many prayers for a peaceful and painless release for Skeeter. Rest in peace at the Bridge, little one.
This is never an easy decision. {{hugs}}

4leggersMom, you keep treating to give longer life and more love. When you can't treat any more,
you have to give love with a very, very hard decision. Blessings and peace to you and Skeeter.

You did all that you did, because you love him.  Skeeter knows that.
Godspeed, Skeeter.  Peace and hugs to you, 4Leggersmom.

You did everything you could for Skeeters and he knows that.
Such a difficult decision to make but such a loving decision, as well.
Godspeed, Skeeters. You will have many new friends at the Bridge.
4leggersmom, please take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing. {{{Hugs to you}}}

Thanks to all of you for your kind words.

It is now about 9:00 a.m. here, and we have a 2:30 appointment.  Unless a miracle happens, which I am doubtful.  Skeeter will be joining all the other beloved pets that have crossed.

The Vet tried a new anti-vomiting medication during the last two days, and it did not only not stop vomiting, he is foaming at the mouth, I have never seen anything like it.  I sat with him last night, and this foam/liquid just fills up his little mouth.

Thank you,
Donna & Skeeter

Donna - sending my prayers and thoughts for you at this hard time.  You know you have done so much for your darling, you always did and are doing the most loving thing for him.

Thankyou, Skeeters for all the love & time you shared with your wonderful caring human.  Rest free & well.
hugs & tears - Jo

It's so sad to hear this. I know we try everything we possibly can to help and to heal, but sometimes things just don't get better. You're very brave and kind to let him go so he doesn't have to struggle anymore. Don't second-guess your decisions -- they were all made out of love for him. Our little angels will be there to greet him. Guaranteed.

Prayers coming to you both as you make that very hard decision to set him free from a body that cannot heal this side of the Bridge. I think that the questioning and doubting is all part of the grief we go through. If you hadn't tried to help him heal, you probably would be questioning that decision and wondering "what if". You are releasing him because of your great love for him and I believe with all my heart that he knows that.

I hope that his passing is gentle and swift as he makes his transition.

Godspeed, Angel Skeeter and peace to you, 4Leggers

I am so sorry to read this.. It is thru tears I write this...You say you were not sure why you put him thru this but I think that you need to know that you gave him every chance...I often have wished for the crystal ball with decision making with my furkids...it is never easy to know when it is the time to send them to the bridge...I have lost more sleep over that than any other stress..so I hope that when it is Skeeter's time to join the healthy happy furkids at the bridge---that you know you gave him every reasonable chance... I am so sorry to read this. You did all you could for Skeeter and now are making a difficult choice to continue to do your best for him. Please don't blame yourself , Skeeter knows he is loved. Prayers and positive thoughts for a peaceful crossing for Skeeter and happy memories of better days for you. I will light a candle for Skeeter.
