PJ is at the emergency clinic for a few days. He may be blocked or partially blocked (urinary).  He started having trouble peeing last Saturday and we brought him to regular vet Monday and his UA was "perfect". He was only sympomatic that one day a week ago, where he would pee a little bit and keep going back to pee.  Seemed fine until last night, and then worsened. So, brought him to regular vet this morning and she sent us to ER as they have no one to cover at night.

ER doctor was able to sqeeze a small amount of urine out of him, but she needs to sedate him, insert a catheter, do blood work, another UA with sediment, x-ray and fluids.  We should no more about what is going on in a few hours.

He is such a happy cat and they loved him at the ER.

So, any prayers, vibes, good wishes would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear PJ is blocked, JM.  I hope it's "just" a crystal blockage.  I'm sending prayers that he gets through this and back to normal quickly.

I can't remember if you're feeding any dry food now.  Rudi had to have a catheter twice, and had several less severe crystal episodes.  It wasn't until I got him completely off the dry food that he stopped having trouble.

Sending many healing thoughts to you and PJ, JM. I hope they will be able to figure it out and prevent it from happening again. I'm glad you were able to get him in when you did.

I hope PJ is doing ok at the emergency vet. I know how scary it is. When Smoggy was sick on Monday the vet first thought he had a blockage because his bladder was hard. Luckily it turned out he was just scared to pee at the vet. I was really worried for a while!

Oh, how awful for you all.  I know how stressed out you must feel.  It's good to know that just last week he was checked and all seemed in place, so it's not like it's possibly been building and building without any check.

I send big hugs and am waiting to hear good news soon.  Big scritches to PJ.

Sending prayers and good vibes for little PJ.  I hope that they are able to resolve his issue.  It sounds like you caught it early, so a good outcome is certainly possible.  Hoping for a good update!

Thanks for your prayers and good vibes for PJ!  Please continue. Still have not been able to talk to one of the doctors at the ER regarding PJ.  One is supposed to call today with a treatment plan.  They keep saying a doctor will call, but everytime I call to check they are doing rounds.  I know they are busy.... Undecided

The only information I have so far is that they put the catheter in PJ and he is unblocked.  He is awake and alert and resting comfortably. He still has the catheter in to keep his urethra open, which is the normal routine, as I recall from when Spooky blocked years ago.  He is on pain medications and IV fluids and is eating dry s/o prescription food.  I do not yet know what they found on x-ray, blood work or UA with sediment.  He was running a slight fever last night.  Will update when I have any new information.  We were initially told he would remain in the ER a minimum of 72 hours as per their protocol.

This is PJ's kitten picture. His sister Daisy misses him.

Petslave,
We were feeding all wet until a couple months ago when we started giving them all a small amount of dry food as a treat after their evening meal.

Gee, Ned, that is scary.  Glad he wasn't blocked.

Oh what a cute baby PJ was!  Kiss  Hoping that you get to talk to a vet soon that can tell exactly how PJ is. Not knowing is so difficult. Your emotions must be all over the place, JM.

Continuing to send hugs and good thoughts to both you and PJ.
