How much can you give a cat.  My cat has been getting 1/4 teaspoon twice a day and I had a problem with constipation(seen in another thread).  My vet said I can go up to 1/4 tsp 3 times a day.  Has any one given more and is it safe at 4 tsp a day dose?

I haven't given it, but this vet blog says you can go up to a full tablespoon if that is what is needed (hopefully it won't be!):

Just caught this thread....

cats8398, don't know if you've seen it but, this site may be of help

That blog post seems to be about three years old...if it ever were, Miralax is not a Rx med...and, in Canada, it's known as Restoralax (guess Health Canada wasn't fussy about the 'miracle' reference in an OTC drug!) As for giving a cat "up to a tablespoon".....glory be! I'd say that's an elephant's dosage!

Gypsy gets 1/8 teaspoon twice a day (our vet instructions are also up to 1/2 teaspoon per day). We also give about a tablespoon of pumpkin (about 24gm) mixed into her low-residue food.  So far it seems the Miralax is working better than the lactulose or kristalose she used to get.
