Oh my Leslie, I am sooo very sorry to hear that the turtle passed on.  Hopefully, she was indeed very elderly and that it was her time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.  Bless you for trying to help her.  Nature seems so cruel, but at least now she is beyond all suffering.  And at least she did know someone's kindness before she moved on, tho we will  never know how aware she really was that someone was trying to help her.  Again, bless you for trying to help her.  RIP dear turtle.

Leslie,
I am sorry that the turtle died before she could get some help   Embarrassed  You did your best, and now she is at peace with no more pain if that is what she was experiencing.

We were out in the woods yesterday , haven't been in a while because the streams were too high to cross. Something dug up the turtle , broke through the bottom of the shell & ate her . She has been dead 2 months & I had 40 lbs of lime & 4 feet of dirt on top of her . I'm afraid it was a bear , whatever it was was able to dig her up & drag her across the lagoon. A motorcycle had been on the trail , so no tracks could be seen.
