noisymouse,
What you report sounds very encouraging.  If there was something seriously wrong, I think you would see it stay the same or get worse.  It sounds like something that was just a passing thing.  Keep us informed if things change.

I'm so glad this seems to be a passing thing and the eye is better, noisymouse. Sending hopes that everything gets better for you.

Well, she alarmed me slightly when she woke up from her long afternoon nap, because she had a teeny little bit of eye goop, (possibly a normal amount?) and was giving me the squinty sleepy eyes, but I still think her eye is looking alright, she's not rubbing it, not blinking it. The little membrane in the corner is her normal pale pink and not angry red, so I think all looks good, for now. Sophie just likes to be dramatic every so often... like when her blind eye turned red two days after we got her, which turned out to be nothing as well.

Hopefully I've just been really overreacting. Not necessarily a bad thing I guess. I'm very paranoid about anything happening to her only good eye. AND, thanks to all of you guys, you've given me some things to think about in terms of emergency options for this or future emergencies.

I'll continue to monitor her through the evening... hopefully all continues to go well.

In the meantime, do you guys want to see pictures?

This was Sophie the day we brought her home. She was pretty funny looking, with scruffy, greasy fur, a shaved tummy, and swollen mammaries. Not the most glamorous looking kitty.

And this is Sophie now. Actually, I took this earlier today. (That eye is looking nice and clear.) Her fur grew in nicely in the past year!

Sophie is a beauty!  It is obvious that you have given her lots of TLC.  Her eye looks fine in the picture from today.  Thanks for posting the pics!

What a pretty girl. She really looks miles better now.Let me know if you're in Manitoba. I might be able to make some recommendations on a vet that does allow payments or a vet whose fees aren't killer.

Yeah... so she's fine. Her eye has been fine all day. I got all worked up over some dust or a cold or something. Sophie must be wishing I get out of her face and stop staring into he eye by now!

You guys are the best, the best.

Sophie is indeed a beauty!  It looks as though she had some injury to the blind eye before you got her; probably that's what caused the blindness.  I'm glad she's fine now.

Sophie is a lil beauty. Happy that whatever was bothering her eye has gone away.

Wow, what a beauty!  She looked promising in the first pic, too, at least to me.

And we're always up for some pics of furkids!   Kiss
