The miracles of no IBD symptoms after years of them for IQ on commercial food, no diabetes symptoms, and better bloodwork are the result of the thoughtful and collective wisdom of so many of you here on Itchmo. Thanks for re-educating this old fart and giving the courage to buck some conventional PFI "wisdom". IQ actually ran around the house! Hope and joy to all of you this Holiday season from my two great hearted, precious pets-who-count to you and yours.

This echoes the experience of so many of us, including myself... 3Cat... wonder if you might post the Strombeck recipe that has worked wonders for IQ or his favorite recipe anyway in the Meowmie thread? Maybe some here at Itchmo who does not have the Strombeck book can benefit? Just a thought. BIG kiss to IQ's nose and a purr headbutt to Smorgi!

Well done, 3cats - Well done! I do not have the words to express the overwhelming joy and happiness I feel for you, and your precious kitties. You were offered a death sentence for your precious girls, but, you refused it, and demanded life instead. I think all the deceit that has been exposed this past year, has given many the courage to question the "established" no win ways of old, and venture out, to search the world for fact and truth. You have certainly been rewarded with a Christmas miricle, for your courage and determination, for stepping outside the 'box', to save IQ and Smorgi. Tears of joy are just streaming down my face.

I am so thrilled and happy to see your news, 3cat! So this was a miracle of the revelation, acceptance and application of the truth about the diet that IQ needed. The image of IQ running made me think she was celebrating her natural cat state and I wonder if a joyful Doozie was running alongside her in spirit. I'm praying for much more joy ahead for her and Smorgi and you. Thanks for sharing this Merry Christmas report!

One more thought to share this day-before Christmas:
The day I picked IQ out of a huge shelter cage so many years ago because she climbed her way straight up the side to meow at me, I held her in my arms and asked if she'd like to go home with me for 20 years. She purred and licked me everywhere.
We may not get all those 20 years, but this last year has been truly extradinary despite the illness. So to all of you who are struggling and dealing with illnesses, never give up hope. With a special vet willing to think outside the box, you can find miracles -- 3cats
P.S. -- Kaffe, it was one of the Strombeck chicken and rice renal receipes, but modified for IQ because she also had diabetes. So the California organic rice content was lowered and the potassium ingredient was changed. I'd be a little afraid to have someone else try it if their cat was not in the exact same condition. But you can google Strombeck and get almost all the recipes on the web, or PM me if you are sure you want to try.

3cats, Please don't change your name because Doozie still shines from above. IQ truly is a Christmas miracle, and you certainly played a huge part in that miracle. Looking forward to the wonderful news for Smorgi too.

I'll never change the name from 3cats, for somehow caring for these three brought me closer to their unique special souls, hearts of pure courage, and gentle, gentle wisdom even in the midst of difficulties.

awww... I would've taken the kitten home too! And you are absolutely right: never give up. Cats consistently surprise us with their hardiness. I so pray that IQ and Smorgi will hang around for a looooong time. Thanks for clarifying IQ's diet - of course it would have to have been a modified one tailored for IQ's specific needs - didn't think of that! But I still want to see the recipe, so I'll PM you after X'mas when all the hub-bub's done . MERRY CHRISTMAS 3Cat, IQ and Smorgi... may the coming new year bring you much much happiness.

3Cats,
Bless your heart for hanging in there, questioning your old vet and finding a new one. Very happy to hear about IQ's Christmas miracle. That's great.
After many years of using it, we're ex SD users, too. Never again will it touch my kitties' lips.
Wish vets would stop pushing that stuff.
LOL, wouldn't that be a Christmas miracle!
