For those of you who have had babies that have been touched with cancer... this is a memorial wall where you can post your baby's picture and type of cancer they had or are still fighting...  God bless you guys, after our babies fall ill, our lives are never the same...

Thanks very much for telling us about this, mgt.  It is an excellent idea.   There seems to be so many cancer cases in our pets and the tracking by zip code could provide some valuable statistics.

This says it all...

But don't worry, they have a second email address in place and suggestions for limiting the file size of the photos.

This is one webiste to go and read about his walk from Austin to Boston---it starts on March 16th!!!  I WILL be in Boston when he gets there--although I know that I may not have Harry by my side with Lucy, he will be in my heart with Barkley!   This is a great walk---please take the time to go and see if you don't agree!!!  And he is leaving on a very special day as you all know!!

MGT,

This is awesome.  Thanks for posting it.  I'm going to pin it to the top.  For dogs and cats.  We lost 2 of our cats to cancer.

I think we should send a link to Itchmo to post on the Itchmo blog.

I wanted to bump this up---bigdog started his walk on March 16 wearing our own "Arnold" and "Harry" on his t-shirt----

He is doing a wonderful thing--he is bringing in money and attention not just to treat canine cancer but to find out why it is so prevalent!!  You can track his progress at

http://www.2dogs2000miles.org/

He certainly is making a difference--he is due in RI around Christmas and I will be posting pictures then here as I will be there to greet him and thank him! Wink

Thank you Carol so very much!!!

Luke Robinson (Big Dog) posted in his forum if anyone would be willing to help him in his travels... such things as taking bottled water along their path (as the water is too heavy for them to carry) and if anyone may be able to offer a place to stay for the night also... I wish I lived in his path!!!  They would be greatful to stay at a home or in a yard and pitch a tent.   There are a few other things like blogging his travels and arranging the delivery of their food and supplies through FedEx once a week...

Here is the link to the map that lists their travel route:  http://www.communitywalk.com/2dogs2000miles  I belive you have to zoom out a little to look at the other end...

I am very greatful to him and his dogs for speaking for all of our babies that have lost their journey by our side and for those who are still in the fight because of this terrible disease...  one that seems all too common now...  Cry

I wanted to keep everyone posted on what is going on with Luke (the big dog) and his boys Hudson and Murphy, they need our prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!... I am going to cut and paste from their daily updates for you to read (written by Kathy):
"As per the Onco&Ortho at Texas A&M on Tues, it is believed that Murphy may have a trauma-related injury.  While they aren't ruling out cancer, it's the last thought on their list of what it may be.  Therefore; Murphy needs to rest and recoup for at least 2 weeks.  While Luke and Hudson will travel onward; we're seeking a comfy home in which Murphy can recoup for however long he is welcome there-it may be a few days or the entire time; their choice.  We'll also be working hard to arrange transport for Luke and Hudson to enable them to spend as many nights with Murphy as possible-which will help him heal since they'll be together as a pack/family, as well as enabling Luke to keep a check on the lump...plus, Luke and Hudson will miss being with Murphy 24/7-so getting them together as often as possible is what we're striving for.  Luke will also take him to a nearby Vet for xrays every 2 weeks.

I will keep you posted when I find out more...

Thanks for the update and also thank you mgt--I found an email to me this am from Kathy at 2dogs2000miles telling me that mgt had sent in a memorial donation for Barkley's name to be on Luke's next t-shirt..... Cry Cry  I had sent in the first donation for Harry but I had not been able to send in my next donation for Barkley (due to my distraction with my Hody) but when I did try to send it in,,the date had closed...I had felt sad that I had "forgotten" Barkley....mgt never knew this...I really think this is my itchmo angels at work again....mgt you are so sweet to think of others with such sadness on your mind too...I wanted all to know here what you have done for us...again.. Cry Kiss

Much love,
Carol and family

Carol, you are very welcome!!  Just like I said in the email... we are all in this together!!!  Sometimes one of us will be stronger and can help another through tough times and also the other way around...  We are really like a little family here... right?  I cry and worry everytime I read of one of our babies here getting sick or more so, passing on... I know that others do too...  Its just that we all understand the worry and the pain.
I wanted to post the link to Luke's blog where he describes what is going on with his little Murphy's paw...
http://2dogs2000miles.blogspot.com/2008/05/murphy.html
I pray that little Murphy gets better, I can't immagine how hard it must be to continue the journey without his baby... it will be very hard for Luke!!!  Especially knowing there is something wrong!!!
