Stopping Pet Overpopulation Society, Inc. (S.P.O.T. Society, Inc.) is an alliance of animal lovers, dog/cat rescuers and veterinarians working together to reduce the number of animals impounded and exterminated in Atlanta area shelters by:

• funding and providing low to no cost spay/neuters for disadvantaged residents of the metro area - targeted geographical areas for spay/neuter programs include the metro Atlanta area and rural communities with no low-cost spay/neuter resources.

SPOT especially needs contributions for the SPOT Spay/Neuter Fund, which pays 100% of the price of the spay/neuter(s) for pet guardians who can not afford to pay for the surgery for their pets themselves if they do not qualify for any other programs.

Georgia-statewide-

http://spaygeorgia.org/spay_neuter.htm

How does SpayGeorgia’s Spay-Neuter Program work? More than 120 veterinary clinics in Georgia have generously agreed to provide spaying and neutering services at a substantially reduced cost.

To obtain a certificate, call 770-662-4479 and leave your name and address. In a few days, you will receive an order form and a list of participating veterinary clinics in the mail. Complete the order form and return it to SpayGeorgia along with your payment. You will receive your low-cost certificate, which you can redeem at any participating veterinary clinic.

http://www.caspersfund.org/participate.html

Option 1) If you have a pet that needs to be spayed or neutered, and you can afford a small co-pay to help with the cost of the surgery, you can qualify for a voucher to use at one of our partner clinics. This program is funded by generous grants from DJ&T Foundation and the Leonard X. Bosack & Bette M. Kruger Charitable Foundation, and Animal Farm Foundation. When you fill out the application, select Option 1 as your choice.

Option 2) If you cannot afford a co-pay, Casper's Fund provides  free and subsidized spays or neuters in exchange for volunteer  hours.  You can earn a maximum of $75 per pet toward the cost of a spay or neuter. You may use the voucher at one of our partner veterinary clinics or you may use your own vet and submit the voucher for reimbursement. When you fill out the application, select Option 2 as your choice.

There is no income requirement for participating  in Casper's Fund - we encourage everyone with an unaltered pet to apply.

http://www.atlantaanimalalliance.com/lifesaver.htm

Atlanta Animal Alliance
3990 Flowers Road, #520
Atlanta, GA 30360
(770) 455-7077

Program Name Life-Savers
Financial assistance for indigent animals with life-threatening medical emergencies.

Vision It is the goal of LifeSavers that no companion animal should ever have to suffer in pain or die because their caretaker does not have the funds available to get the necessary veterinary care to save its’ life.

Mission The mission of LifeSavers is to provide financial assistance for animals suffering from life-threatening conditions that require specific and immediate veterinary care.

Owners who are struggling financially are faced with a difficult decision that often results in the pet being “put to sleep” for an otherwise treatable condition.

Summary The LifeSaver Fund will provide financial assistance to indigent owners of animals in need of life-saving medical assistance. The LifeSaver program empowers veterinarians to treat animals in need and receive just compensation for their professional skills. Veterinarians decide who is eligible and who will receive a grant under program guidelines. Final grant approval verifies that funds are available and allocated to cover treatment cost.

Note--the lifesavers.com link is not working but the program is still very much active:

http://www.atlantaanimalalliance.com/donation.htm

Would suggest contacting AAA for information about Life Savers.  AAA also has a low cost spay/neuter program available:
