Is anyone else having periodic slow page loads?  For the last week or so I have had times when it just seems like a page freezes and stops loading.  Then it will suddenly finish loading.  Just curious to know if this is my computer or if others are experiencing the same thing.  Doesn't happen all the time, but gets annoying when it does.   Huh

I haven't noticed any problem.  Sorry.

I haven't either, and I think I have the forum's oldest, slowest computer.

In the past, I have noticed slow page loads on sites when my ISP is messing about with their lines.

Mandycat,

You might want to try clearing out all history, cache, and cookies from your browser. Then shut your computer completely down and start it up again. That is what I do when I begin to notice that my hard drive stops everything from downloading while it 'makes more room' for the new data coming its way.

I was having trouble a few weeks ago,but it was my computer. I cleared everything, ran all virus programs & rebooted & it was fine. Must have been clogged up with cookies etc.

When mine does that, it's almost always because the tracking cookies have piled up.  I run spyware scan, delete those, then delete temp internet files & cookies under Tools > Internet Options.  Works every time.

Thanks for all the tips!  Smiley  I will try to clean things up and see what happens.

Mandy, also read something in last week or so about some dang Microsoft vulnerability that
was being exploited on various usually thought safe websites. Be sure antispy and virus programs
are fully updated, clean out cache, and a restart should help. Sorry, can't find tech article again.

OK, I am having trouble now.  While typing messages, it keeps getting hung up for about 10 words, then puts them onscreen.  Also have been kicked out of the forum 4 times in an hour, and I always log on for way longer than that.  I deleted Temp Internet files and it didn't help.  Guess it's time to shut down and run a scan in the morning!

It turns out the hosting service is doing some work overnight, Wednesday-Thursday.  Hence, the reason we were off-line.  Should be all done by now.

OK, so that's why it went off for me last night - not long after I got here for the first time about 1:30 am Grin.

If it's any comfort there's been a lot of bottlenecks and traffic jams on the Internet. Could have something to do with over bearing use-traffic during the labor day holidays.

Also notice a lot of updates and patches coming in from the various vendors, etc, etc.
