this is a local colony that is about 25 mins from my home. its been around for more than several years now. and i know that the people caring for it have been doing tnr.  it is amazing and beautiful and i wanted to share it. i was not part of it but i greatly admire what they have done.

What a great home for the community cats in your area! I am impressed. (Also hope that everyone around is respectful of the cats and doesn't mind having them. Everything I've read about caring for ferals suggests being as discrete as possible so as to not call attention to them.) It's nice to see happy, healthy looking cats. Living outdoors all the time is NOT an easy life for them. Bless the hearts of these caretakers.

That's fantastic, that your community allows someone to do that.  I know there are ferals around my apt community, but I'm afraid people would complain if they saw a house for them in the thickets.

its in a pretty industrial area. and there are very very few homes if any near by.  it was built by a man that lives in a tiny trailer that is located next to the colony. im not sure how or why he is able to live there but he has for many many years. he built the entire thing. he just kept adding new buildings over time. this man has almost nothing as far as material possesions but has a heart of gold.  he is almost homeless just barely a step above that. there are several different woman who care for the colony and provide their food and vet care when they are sick and find home for the kitties that end up being frienddly and they are the ones who do the tnr. it really is amazing. they have had one or 2 issues over the years with people trying to harm the cats but it hasnt been an issues in awhile. there are alot of people  now that keep an eye on the colony and help keep it safe.

This is amazing; thank you for sharing!  Blessings upon this man who appears to have arranged his life around providing a place for these cats, and to all the others who care for them.
