IQ's Mom:  Cato's Meowmie has no advice usable to you, but you have much much sympathy and many many prayers and good thoughts.

IQ seems to be doing better on the doxy capsules and 6 cc's of water. I was a little late with breakfast this
morning and after reminding me twice vocally it was time to eat, Q started to spit up a couple of drops. But when I
hauled out the food can and got food ready, that stopped immediately. This little lovable tyrant has a schedule, too. Hope
it's not an index of stomach upset on the antibiotic. I believe I'll cut a slightly more generous dose of the Pepcid
today. Food is staying down and poo is still formed and pretty normal. 17 days to go.

Suggestions for your favorite non-clumping cat litter would be appreciated. We have new boxes with plastic liners
that get changed out totally twice a week and cleaned out twice a day. I know about Good News, Johnny Cat, and some others PM'd by different people. I'm thinking I'm going to try every day change for a while while we get through this. So I would be down to about an
inch and a half of litter to be changed every day in all four boxes. What non-clumping type works best for you?

I use Tidy Cat, it's just the brand I use no particular reason.  It's not real dusty though.  Good wishes for IQ she is one smart kitty.  I too have had the experience where a vet would say it's soo easy to pill a cat and then not be able to.

Yeah - I use Johnny Cat for the non-clumping.  I never have had success with the natural pellet types. And I've never tied the crystals.  Why must it be non-clumping, 3Cat?  There are some good ones now like Swheat and World's Best... pricy though.  Anyway, I found that Johnny Cat absorbs odors better than any other non-clumpers.

1 of the local cat rescues here always asked for the Petvalu store brand of non clumping. They said it had good odor control for the price & were also changing it daily.

Non-clumping to avoid the issue of kitties with chronic renal failure doing excess urinating,
leaving very wet spots in litter boxes, which then stick to kitty feet and get clumping kitty
litter licked into kitty by kitties who are visiting litter boxes more than normal kitties because
of renal failure. That's why non-clumping, Cato, I believe is being advised and has been
advised since chronic renal failure diagnosis by my vet. That's what vet suggested, that you
don't need clumping clay issues, too. Anyone else heard that?

Thanks for your suggestions of favorite brands. IQ's poo smells a little more since we started
FortiFlora and Doxycycline, but it's still formed. So I'm hoping it's the probiotics or the doxycycline.
