Davey is waking up now.  They had to remove one tooth.  I saw it beforehand and it was yucky looking.   Embarrassed

I will be picking him up at the last minute early evening so he can finish his extra IV fluids.

Thank you all for your vibes, thoughts, prayers, and candles.  They are greatly appreciated.

Yay!!  Very good news!  Keep us posted if you hear from the vet again and once he gets home.  I think he deserves filet mignon for supper!  Ooops, never mind that, probably not a good idea with the toofie issue.  Maybe he can have that in the next few days.  Wink

LOL.  He'll be getting a little bit of his mushy cat food.  He had lots of roasted chicken last night though.

Glad Davey is doing well.  I know he'll be glad to be home.  Roasted chicken sounds pretty good though, maybe he'll have to wait for filet mignon for supper next weekend.... Grin

I am soooo late to this thread, but may I say that I am very happy to hear that Davey went through his dental realy well ---- phew...

With freeT4 and T4 on borderline high, it is alwaysbest to  wait a month or so and retest... sometimes, the lab result is erroneous - Antech admits that they have erroneous T4 reads more often than they like.

So glad to hear that Davey came through the dental with flying colors. He's going to do just fine with one tooth gone. CJ had four extracted on her last dental and it hasn't slowed her down one single bit.

I think he can have whatever he wants for dinner (or whatever his next meal is).

Good boy, Davey!!  Roll Eyes

Davey is home in a pen I set up for him so he is safe while he gets his sea legs back.  His pupils are HUGE black disks in his eyes.  Unsteady on his feet, but he wanted to eat, so I gave him some rabbit.  Tolerated well so far.  They loaded him with IV fluids and gave him subcutaneous fluids, as well.  He just keeps walking around and trying to balance on the corners of his litter box.  Restless.  Thanks again for all your prayers.

So good he's home now.  The worst is over.  Davey boy, lie down and take a nice long nap and wake up refreshed in the morning!

So glad he's back home, where both you and he will feel better!  I have found that the older the cat, the longer the anesthesia takes to wear off (unsteadiness, restlessness, dilated pupils, etc.)  Thank goodness you have the pen to keep him safe!  Probably he'll be close to normal tomorrow, except maybe for a sore mouth and tiredness.

Glad he's home ! It does seem to take longer for seniors to bounce back from the drugs.

That sounds pretty normal for a cat coming out of anesthesia. I'm glad that he's home and hungry. It's way easier than having them at the vets (and easier for them being at the vets). Imagine he will sleep it off tonight and be back to himself tomorrow.

Keep us posted, please.
