We are in southern NJ,3 dogs.Tried the chicken super 5 mix & the lamb. Did better than on old foods[Pur 1 & pro plan sens systems,SD light & oral care & w/d,& Iams mini]. Had alot of grass eating & bile. Licking & biting at paws. Stopped it because some is made where they had recalls. They did like it & coats & skin were better than before. All 3 have health problems so we are only doing homemade.

My dog Riley eats lamb and Sweet Potato dry and everything is good with him. Blood tests all perfect.
He is a very athletic dog and on the thin but muscled side.
I want to give him some variety though. Haven't chosen the new flavor of Wellness dry to give him yet.

Tried the Chicken Super 5. Dogs would not eat it. Please understand that with all the foods I have posted it either started out because of recalls or because we were trying to find a dog food that Tony our liver disease dog could eat.
I live in Florida.

Wellness dry Chicken Super 5 Mix & Simple Solutions Venison

Until the recalls, I included Wellness dry in my dog's food rotation. I feed 3 different brands in a rotation, so every 3rd bag purchased was Wellness for part of 2005 and all of 2006.

No problems whatsoever with the Wellness Chicken Super 5 Mix in 2006.

In February 2007, the vet supply store that I frequent had several small bags of Wellness on markdown. Since the bags were not damaged and well within date, I bought them. I was in a hurry and did not realize until getting home that the bags were Simple Solutions Venison. When I went to change over foods from what my dog had been eating to the Wellness Venison, (starting with 1/4 new food, 3/4 old food), she got diahrea. Not severe diahrea, just once or twice a day when she had to go, she had the runs.

Since she'd never had venison before, I'm thinking her system just didn't handle it well. I ended up using the food, but literally starting with 1 kibble (once she no longer had the runs) and increasing the amount of this Wellness formula 1 or 2 kibbles at a time, until the venison formula was about 1/2 of each meal. Since I had bought small bags, I just fed the Wellness Venison 1/2 and 1/2 with the other brand I was feeding until the Venison formula was gone.

Hey all, we had to take my dog off of the Wellness Dry Lamb and Sweet Potato a few weeks ago because he kept having diarrhea and loose poops. Every now and then he wouldn't eat for the day and then the next day would be diarrhea day. Not great. It happened off and on and we thought for good reason it might be stress related. Then a vet thought it sounded more like allergies so she put him on D/D for sensitive digestion. ALL is better than it has been in a long time.

He suffered now and then with this loose problem and then after buying a new bag it seemed like it got a lot worse. I'm not saying it was the food, but I am a little uneasy about it. I think maybe he's allergic to Lamb. We'll find out soon.

We tried the Wellness fish and sweet potato dry. The dogs did not care much at all for this food. I had to mix canned with it for the poodle to touch it.
It smelled very bland compared to other brands. Maybe thats why.
It didnt cause any problems or anything though.

Just finished a 30-lb bag of Wellness Super5Mix Complete Health Chicken kibble.  Doggies liked it.  We were mixing it half-and-half with CORE kibble.

My dogs have been on Super5 Mix Small Breed for about 10 months and have done very well on it.  They both have sensitive stomachs and don't take well to switches, but they didn't have any problem switching to Wellness from their previous food (I mixed in 25% for two days, 50% for two days, 75% for 2 days, etc.).  They were also both on Purina before and while I can't speak for my younger dog because we had just adopted him, Taffy, our older dog with Cushings, seems to be in much better general health since we've been using Wellness.  They both liked the food and didn't have any issues from it, and it was a great size for their little mouths.  I'm in the process of switching foods again now but not because of any problems with Wellness--just to try another brand and formulation.

We are still using Wellness Dog kibbles without problems and no refusals.   Stools good.

Alternating between CORE and Super5Mix

Core (Original, Ocean, and Reduced fat)

Super5Mix Complete Health (Chicken Recipe)

Currently trying Super5Mix Complete Health (Whitefish & Sweet Potato)

Recently tried the Simple solutions rice & salmon. They all liked it for a treat, but Remy had trouble with it. Gave it to a neighbor whose golden is doing well on it.
