Both of my beagle mix boys got Nutro because the puppy came from the breed rescue already on Nutro Max. When the older guy developed severe skin problems (actually was being treated for mange, it was so bad), I switched him to Nutro Ultra. Within a month I could see the difference--now both boys get Ultra and they are in top shape. We're in western Pennsylvania.

Location: Florida
Species:  Dog

Fed Nutro Ultra Adult Dry for a while but one of my dogs had a problem with itching & loose stools.

Then I stopped feeding the Nutro Ultra Dry & switched to another dry.   His stool problems vanished & no more itching either.

Believe it or not, my dog was on this dry food also.  I told you, I think I tried all of them.  Anyway, she was scratching with loose stools.....when I first switched her over, it wasn't real bad but when I bought the second bag things got worse so I pulled her off it.  About a day later, the Ultra canned was recalled & I was very glad I got her off the dry. Grin

I'm in CA.

This is from Michigan.

I hated this, when I first got my Pomeranian a few years back, I used the Nutro Max adult, and I hated it! This caused my dog to throw up constantly, he was listless, and I thought he had a stomach problem like 8-years ago. Also, his coat was bad, and it seems like he developed his IBS during the time he ate this food. I would never feed this to my dog again.

Had my dog on this first and with the loose stools, grass eating just put it down to nerves from being adopted from the shelter. One ingredient is synthetic vit k. Took her off last nov. loose stools stopped as well as excessive grass eating too. Will not use this food again. We're in IL.

I had my dogs on this food for a few years and didn't think I had any problems until they both became ill (don't think it was food related) and I decided to switch them to something different.  Since I switched my one dog who used to throw up regularly has stopped.  She's not doing great on the new foods I've tried but she isn't throwing up and I don't plan to use this food in the future.

I've fed Nutro to my dogs for many years and they always have done
great and look great.  I feed Natural Choice Lamb/Rice Senior now
and my 10 year old Kerry Blue looks and acts like a youngster.

I haven't fed the Ultra but know a few people who do that like it a lot.

We are now feeding our 2 Nutro Ultra adult and have been on this food about 2 months now.  Both do great on it (good poop, shiny coat)  Purchase it in Ohio.

**update on nutro ultra**  we've been feeding this food for a little over 3 months and gradually my one dog's lost his taste for it entirely so we will be trying something else.  He's thin and can't afford to lose anymore weight.  My female lab mix still will eat it but not with enthusiasm.  We're going back to Diamond Naturals after this bag is gone.  Dogs seem to like the taste better.
