I was looking on the net for another cat tree and i came across these things.
http://www.thecatandkittenstore.com/servlet/the-Kittywalk-Systems-cln-Outdoor-Enclosures/Categories

Has anyone seen or used these things?? How safe are they?? I dont want my cats getting loose and running around in the back yard.  They also have kitty doors that are installed in screen doors and it looks like you can connect that to these enclosures.

Now i also found this.

These people do custom cat enclosures. they made some pretty nice ones they show on the website. just seems $$$$$$. I would have to save to do that for the gang.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I love those custom-made enclosures.   Awesome!

We use the basic kittywalk on our raised deck in the summer.  I have two walks that are each 6 feet long.  I can couple them together and make it 12 feet.  It took awhile to get the cats used to them.  Some cats want nothing to do with them, others like them, others try to chew their way out.  They are easy to put together and dismantle.  The metal rods that hold the framework together are corroding where they join each other.  We get a fair amount of rain and humidity here.   I would give them a thumbs up, if caution is used.

Caution:  I never leave my kitties unsupervised in them.  A dog, stray cat, wild animal, or bird of prey could attack the cats even in the kitty walk since they are collapsible.  I've never put them on grass since my yard is not enclosed and not predator proof.

I love how you have your tuxedo black and white cat hanging out in there. reminds me of my 2 tuxedo black and white brother and sister i have. it also looks like you have a grey one in the back. I also have a grey little girl in my gang.  Cute cats!

I just love mine. Go to [The Den] and I think it's on page 3 or so. Look at My cats Gazebo.

Chow absolutely has to go potty outside.  I have put up chain link fence as an outdoor enclosure so he can "go" under the shrubbery.

I love feral cats.

One day, I will build a proper outdoor enclosure for the cats... in the meantime, I put up a chainlink kennel with a door and top and "decorated" it for the cats.  The kennel measures 13ft long  x  7 ft wide  x 7ft tall.  The cats absolutely love it out there:

Wow, that looks fun!  I don't dare show Fizzy, she would be SO jealous and just stare at me, you know, thinking "where's MINE?"  Ummmm, is that a sweater on Kaffe? Grin  How sweet!

hee hee hee  Cheesy  yes - that's a "sweater" on Kaffe --- made from an old beanie hat of mine --- just cut out 3 holes - two on the side for the arms and one bigger one at the top and inbetween for the head  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  He's a short-haired cat from the Philippines and is not as hardy as Cato in the cold!

Fizzy... my cats' enclosure cost me all of $250.00 the set at Petsmart  (heaps cheaper than most kitty custom-made enclosures of this size).  I assembled it myself and I'm a small woman!

Love it!  Wait until I show my sister the idea for her cats.  And I can't believe you got a cat to wear a sweater in the snow.
