Now that my heart has quit pounding.. I regret my camera is broken...
I heard a yowl and jumped to run see what happened. Sigh. It was the ball. It makes all kinds of sounds and all 3 are fascinated with it. Cautiously fascinated. They're grouped around it, stretched noses coming within inches.
This isn't something you'd like to leave out IMO. It's large enough they can't bite it, and pushing, so far, is about the best they can manage.
Scooter, naturally, was the one who hit it and made it yowl for them. After my arrival they've all laid down to circle it & watch it..

Offy, very intriguing! Get that camera fixed so we can see a pic of it.

Sandi, the better pic would have been 2 cats trying to get in the frig and one doing a long run ready to catch the chicken-chicken-treat-treat. This is payback I'm sure from Scooter who realized that the Halo didn't get opened, so she whacked the yakky ball.
(chicken-chicken-treat-treat is the alert for Halo chicken treats. Scooter prefers to catch mid air as it's tossed across the den. Ling sits patiently at my feet. MK looks for the missed pieces until she realizes one is under her belly)
as I type they're making the yakky ball go crazy with the whole repertoire of sounds... sheesh.. I am being punished, aren't I? THE look for the newmans beef was bad enough to make me think of voodoo horror shows.

Remind me never, ever to get one of these for my cats. I can just see flying out of bed in the middle of the night! You may be lacking in camera pictures at the moment, but the word pictures are priceless!

I agree Catbird, I can just envision the all in a circle around "it" (the ball) investigating.

Offy's descriptions are better than a camera. I went to look those little critters up. Are they really loud? They would drive my kittens crazy. They were freaked when the furnace kicked on for the first time this morning.

Offy, love your descriptions, I can just "see" it now. I've got to check those things out, might have to get one for my kitties.
Wow, JustMe, I can't believe it's cold enough for the furnace to come on, I'm so jealous. We were just getting excited that the highs are going to be the low, low temp of 77 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. Of course, by Monday, it's supposed to be back to 85.

tesla I am sitting here shivering. It's pouring rain, windy, and about 50 degrees here. We had frost last Friday night. I'd gladly send you some if I could!
We have had the furnace running at night, too.

Okay, am I the only one still having to run their A/C? I'd love a bit of cold stuff, it would at least make it feel more like Fall. Hard to get the feel for it when you're running around in shorts sweating.

Here in Maryland, this is a very unpredictable time of the year. We can have temps during the day in the 70's and even 80's and at night it can plunge to the 40's. Yes, I still have my AC on for the warm days. But, I am about to set it on a setting that I have that automatically switches between heat and AC as needed without my having to do anything at all. That comes in handy for these crazy days as well as some days in the early Spring when we have similar swings of temps.

Boy, Mandycat, it must make it hard to decide what to wear each day with those bouncing temps. Hope nobody gets sick from it. That sounds really cool being about to set your unit up to switch automatically between A/C and furnace, makes for a lot less work.
