I vacuum the trees often, but surely they need some cleaning.  What are ways to do this?  Last week I was removing clumped fur from one of the cubbies and my forearm became red and itchy. Yikes!

Damp cloth?  Maybe some spray enzymatic cleaner followed by damp cloth?

Or the furniture attachment of a carpet shampooer . Just use hot water & some enzyme cleaner . Bissell sells  a pet hair attachment for vacuums which works miracles on getting hair off fabric & carpet. On my way to work now , but I'll post the link later .

Just be super careful if you're using a rug shampooer - some of those cat trees have heavy cardboard tubes as connectors under the carpet and you don't want to get them wet any more than you absolutely have to...

I use the furniture attachment of my carpet shampooer, too. But I know that my cat tree platforms are made of particle board under the carpet.

You could probably also surface clean using a pet-safe carpet spot/spray cleaner according to directions. I have that to clean those inevitable little indiscretions on the rug. You rinse with a damp rag afterwards.
