My cats love the dogs' tennis balls. These are real tennis balls, not the smaller ones they sell in some pet stores that have a stinky odor to them. When the dogs aren't playing with them, the cats like to bat them around or hold them close to their bellies with their front paws and turn them with their back feet.

I've never seen our cats play with the dog's tennis ball, but they do like ping pong balls.

Thomas absolutely loves chewing on, kicking, and shredding the miniature tennis balls. He would probably enjoy the larger ones as well, if they didn't make him nervous. (He used to be feral, and large or heavy toys tend to startle him. My other cats pretty much dislike tennis balls altogether.) They all love ping-pong balls, though.. especially the ones with stuff that rattles or causes the ball to roll erratically inside.

I've never given KD a tennis ball - probably a good thing as she'd chew the fluff off it. But she has a squishy ball about the same size that she likes to hold against her stomach and bat with her back legs.

My cat likes real tennis balls. Just like others mentioned, mine gives it "kangaroo kicks" with his back feet while holding it close to his stomach. Mine also will cover it with his entire body so that it simply disappears. Then he sits there proudly looking completely innocent!

Buy local. Buy organic. If you ate today, thank a farmer, hopefully a small, local farmer.
Remember the thousands & thousands of pets that died to give US a wake-up call about the safety of ALL food.

Oh how cute! I'll have to get some tennis balls and see how they like them.

yes.
they like the mini tennis balls to throw around in the normal way, and several of them like the full size ones to hold to their chest and kick with their rear claws.

Okay, so I rolled a brand-new tennis ball towards my calico - who is the boss of this place. Wow, she can jump REALLY high! Why am I laughing? Ah honey, come to mommy. Mommy's sorry!

My cats love those little ping pong sized WIFFLE BALLS. they are just like ping pong balls, but they have manhy little holes in them and my cats can pick them up in their paws, and in their mouths and carry them around in addition to batting them around.
Of course the best toys are a rolled up crinkly piece of paper, or the right sized cardboard box that a cat can get in, scratch in, hide in, and sleep in. I sometimes cut windows in a cardboard box, they have hours of fun reaching in and out of the windows to attack each other, or peeking out while hiding. I never throw a cardboard box out till it has been played in or slept in a while. And you can get them free! Of course I am cheap and have many cats.
After I moved from Gitmo in Cuba, I had some really enormous packing boxes, so I cut windows and doors in them, and made a 2 story apartment house for my cats and put it in an empty room, Oh my, what a wonderful time they had with their apartment house. Now I don't have a place to put an apartment house, but it was fun while it lasted.
