I wonder for those that are reacting to regular pine pellets, if aspen pellets would be one to try. I like them also and often mix them in with the pine pellets. Aspen Supreme http://www.greenpet.com/products.htm

Guilty as charged! Just realized I have not posted since the last litter 'trial" several (many?) months ago. Lincoln and Disco found me guilty of messing with their litter again and have sentenced me to a lifetime of EverClean Low Track. After 7-9 years of trying every litter under the sun and moon, I give up. What I haven't told them: It's the easiest to clean and needs the least changes of any litter we have tried. It's really a win win; I just have to put up with a little dust.

I too use the "All Natural" Cats Pride, which is now available at Stop & Shop, Shaw's, etc. It's the first litter I've used which doesn't spread dust all over the house and that I don't have to spend my life sweeping up. The last one, Arm n Hammer" was horrible -- anytime I added more litter, a large cloud of dust would arise. I have three kitties and two large litter boxes (no room for more). I clean them out twice a day and I've found that the boxes and litter stay clean and so I don't need to fully empty and wash more than one or twice a month. Two of my guys are 13 so they've been through every litter know to man and they do seem to like this one. My "little" guy, only 3ish, just follows their lead.

I am posting here to try and find a less dusty clumping litter if there is such a thing...............right now i use Tidy Cats Scoop® Crystals Blend which making all the fixtures in my down stairs bathroom become covered with a flim of gray dust. YUCK
I've been using this also for two months and just got through cleaning a thick, fine dust layer from the entire area. My cats are breathing this. It even makes me sneeze while I'm cleaning. Not acceptable. Living in HI, not all the brands mentioned in this thread are available here. I have tried 'World's Best', but as I said upthread the two times I tried it, there were browns bugs in it after a few days. I've got HEPA filters at each litter box station and the pre-filters are saturated in a few weeks. This is just unacceptable to subject my cats to this. Should I try non-clumping litter again? I don't remember having dust like this back in the day of using 'Johnny Cat'. Should I just let the bugs feast in 'World's Best'? They're not hurting anything, I don't think. It's just the ew factor. I live in an apartment with no porch or anything. I don't put the lids on the boxes for the cats' sakes. I really need suggestions guys. Thanks!

I Just started using World's Best Cat Litter and it's been great so far. Phil doesn't get it stuck on his paws and track out a mess when he has a bit of an accident sometime, and its not dusty that I've noticed, nor does it smell chemically. I haven't noticed any bugs yet.

I decided to try Vetbasis cat litter, as it got some great reviews here. I purchased it on-line at Catclaws. I was hasty in my order, so did not check that the cat toys ordered with it were made in the USA. Turned out one of them was, one wasn't, but what was surprising is that when asked I was told that the herbal cat litter was NOT made in the USA. However, I contacted Vetbasis themselves and was told the ingredients are all USA. So now I am not sure whether it is or not? Any ideas? Sounded like a good litter.
Also made me wonder if most cat litters are not made in the USA.

4leggersmom, did Vetbasis say where the litter was made?

I sent Vetbasis an email and asked if their herbal cat litter was made it the USA and if all ingredients were made in the USA. They replied yes to both, however that is not what CatClaws told me. I mentioned to CatClaws I was personally boycotting all animals products made in China. CatClaws didn't say where the litter was made other than not made in USA. CatClaws also said litter was backordered from May 08.

Hmmm. Well I would assume that Vetbasis would know more about their own product than Catclaws would, but you never know. I guess if you still have concerns you could press catclaws on if they know where the product was made, but I think I would contact Vetbasis directly since it is their product and let them know what Catclaws told you. I have been using this litter for a long time and have had no bad experiences with it. Also, I guess not made in USA doesn't always mean it's made in China, but I don't have any idea where this is made.

Kittylyda,
and the plot thickens. I received another email from CatClaws saying all their products made in the USA are marked with a USA Label, and Vetbasis cat litter is not. Apparently this product is being manufactured by Pet Living. It seems currently that everyone is out of stock of the herbal cat litter, they will try to let me know when it is back in stock and also where it is made.
It does sound like a great litter. We do not have it locally, is why I have been going online.
Thanks for your input.

Weird! There does not seem to be any shortage of it here in Chicago. I just bought a bag 2 days ago.
If you happen to find out where it is made, would you mind posting the info? I'm curious to know since I have been using it for a long time. It would be disappointing to find out that it's made in China, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised.
