We've been using Litter Purrfect sold at Costco for years and am looking for another brand that is not so dusty. The package states 99% dust free - 99% of what? Don't all packages say that anyway? I've used Scoop Away unscented before and had only switched due to cost. Recommendations?

Sofia, I recently started using Arm & Hammer High Performance Natural Clumping cat litter. I like it very much, no dust and it is flushable. It is hard to find though. Only place that sells it in my area is Pet Supplies Plus. I know Petsmart does not have it. I am unsure about Petco.

I use a brand called Fresh Results. Clumping, no dust, and best of all, flushable.

I've never heard of Fresh Results and Google isn't being too helpful, just a lot of links to reviews. What's it made of and where does one find it?
I've tried a few alternatives to regular clumping clay. Didn't like the silica pellets because they stick to her and I'm more worried about her ingesting those than clay. She refuses to use any of the pine or paper-based pellet litters. Swheat Scoop was OK, but tracked too much and stuck to the box liners. World's Best was great, but I can't afford it - I'd rather spend the money on her food.

 Okay, am I the only one laughing at the name 'Fresh Results'? As a matter of fact, I think I smell some fresh results now that need to be scooped. LMAO! Love that! Looked for it online also - no avail.

We're using Good Mews (made from recycled paper). No dust, flushable, biodegradable, environmentally friendly.

OK guys - have the bag in front of me. Fresh Results - Eight In One (8in1) Pet Products www.eightinonepet.com Item#M1365 I'm in Texas - buy it at my local HEB grocery. Just a regular supermarket. Purple plastic bag, it's made of natural corn cob granules, lightly pine scented (pleasant, not strong), biodegradable, 99.9% dust free, lightweight, flushable (my favorite feature-no smelly trash cans). A bag lasts about three weeks for me since I scoop at least twice a day (picky Ripley - won't use a smelly pan), and I don't add extra between complete changes. Just start with fresh liner and new bag about every three weeks. And I, too , smell some "fresh results" that need attention. You may resume laughing! |

I have 2 cats myself but I am also a pet sitter specializing in cat care, so I scoop many a litter box! My favorite clumping litter by far is called Vetbasis herbal cat litter. http://www.pet-living.com/vetbasis/litter.htm I will say right off that it is very expensive, but it is all natural (made of corn cobs I think) good for the environment, not dusty, clumps well, deodorizes. It is very lightweight so you really can flush it down the toilet. I know they all say that they are flushable, but this one really is. It has lavender in it so it smells great. A cheaper option would be petsmarts brand of litter. It's just s regular clumping clay litter called "Exquisicat". Not too dusty, clumps well & deodorizes. If you go for a scented variety it is very lightly scented, not over powing. Very cheap! |

I knew I was forgetting something in my previous post - price. I think I pay about six dollars a bag.
Also, I just remembered I've bought it at Wal-Mart before. Hope you can find it.

If you looking for an unscented litter (which is hard to find), we use the Petsmart ExquisiCat Unscented paper clumping litter. It is not in pellets like most paper litters, it's got the shape and texture of clay without all the dust. I really like it. It's not available online, only in the stores.

I prefer not to use clumping litter. And, definitely not clay clumping litter. I have occasionally used Feline Fresh which is a pine clumping litter.

I tried clay clumping litter and had way too many problems. It got stuck in their paws and was a mess to clean out. Also dangerous to them when they licked/chewed it out. I would love to try some of the alternative, natural clumping litters but they are cost prohibitive for me with 4 boxes and 6 cats.

Yikes! Scoop Away Multi-Cat stinks like concentrated public-bathroom deodorizer. My cat jumped on my lap and her whole body smelled. Yuck!! I am returning that today.
