Hey guys i just put in a order for all the weruva chicken flavors and ill report back to how my cats like them. They eat a lot of seafood (its their favorite) but im trying to stay away from the menadione. if you all go to waggintails.com you can order it by the can instead of buying an entire case

Fizzy and Scooby split Grandma's chicken soup can last night.  Score!!  They seemed to really, really like it.  However, Fizzy has issues with the texture of the chicken which is shredded, and about 1 inch long.  She left most of the meat, but licked everything else.  I think I would need to feed more of this at one time, also, since there is not a lot of bulk to it.  I'll probably just use this as a treat once in a while.

Paw Lickin Chicken is a two tails up winner with Lincoln and Disco!  Weruva's web site lists no stores that carry their products in the Sacramento area - closest was Auburn.  So bit the bullet, drove up today. Bought 1-3oz can of all 15 varieties for the "finicky feline food trial."  When I got home it was treat time and they got sample #1.  Disco slurped up the broth (her favorite thing) and a little chicken, while Lincoln scarffed up the larger pieces.  They cleaned the pickle plate in record time and are now both snoozing.

There are probably some flavors they will not like, but I figured it was worth trying all of them before buying by the case.  Knowing how picky cats can be, I'm surprised Weruva does not offer a sample mixed case like Merrick does with their B.G.  The owner of the store I went to also said they provided no coupons and/or free samples like her other organic/natural high priced manufacturers do.  She has communicated this to Weruva and is considering dropping their products.

I tried just a few cans of three seafood flavors on 'Mr Finicky' Wilson - just a small amount as a nighttime treat.  He loves it!  Would like to try the chicken ones too.  They don't sell it locally so I have to order it.

Day 2 of the Finiky Feline Taste Test:  We have another winner!  Funky Chunky Chicken Soup, which smelled and looked satisfactory for human consumption.  Lincoln had a little trouble with the peas - DH didn't squish them and they tended to roll out of his mouth.  He finally managed to nail (tooth?) them and cleaned the pickle plate to a fine sheen Villeroy & Boch would be proud to display.  The peas, carrots and rice were a new experience for Lincoln since he has scorned my previous attempts at home cooking.  BTW he was also purring as he ate, went back into the kitchen when he was finished  and attempted to open the cabinet where the canned cat food is kept.  Usually, being the Maine gentleman that he is, he leaves a little on the plate for Disco to eat later.  Not yesterday or today.  I think she is catching on.

For the past year, I have been trying to find a safe, healthy alternatives to Solid Gold Blended Tuna with steamed organic chicken for their daily ration of treat food.  So far, so good.

We're on a roll - 3 out 3!  The early risers were served Mediterranean Harvest with Tuna and Vegetables for their am snack much to their satisfaction.

The post-nap house special today was Nine Liver with chicken and chicken liver which they consumed in record time.  Maybe Lincoln was just anxious to get back to his window climber to watch mama robin feed her babies, and Disco to her favorite sun-worshiping spot?

Four down and 11 to go.  Think I'll try one of the more unusual flavors on my epicures tomorrow.

Today's am offering was Outback Grill with Trevally and Barramundi.  Although they eventually finished it all, this exotic Australian seafood was not received as enthuiastically as the three chicken and one tuna based formula.  Disco thinks Outback Grill might impress some Aussie kitties, but her mom stuck to fresh Delta catfish exclusively.

They were, however, both impressed with Grandma's Chicken Soup with chicken, potato, pea and carrot this afternoon.

Friday's selections will take our fearless felines to China - served sans chop sticks

Alas, my Maine man and all American lady did not find their snacks as fascinating today.  The breakfast treat was On The Cat Wok with Chicken and Beef, and this afternoon Peking Ducken with Chicken & Duck.  Between them they did eat all 3oz of each serving but, unlike the chicken and tuna based foods, they left and came back several times.  Since the Peking Ducken looks like it has tiny noodles in it, guess I should have given them chop sticks!

Maybe Dr. Seuss will cheer them up tomorrow morning?

Green Eggs and Chicken with dried eggs and peas did the trick -they are both happy campers again.  Lincoln still has a problem with the peas.  (Hard to remember to squish them before my first cup of coffee!)

Hi MaineMom - I'm enjoying your updates!  Just discovered that our local store now sells Weruva!! I was just going to order some more cans ...so it is nice to have it local.

So far Mr Finicky Wilson has tried Asian Fusion, Mack & Jack, and Polynesian BBQ.  Each was a hit.  I'm only using them as treat food before bed - about 1/4 to 1/3 of a can each night, so not much.  Trying to keep his seafood intake low, but like the idea of really high quality when he does get it.  I have noticed that he is more likely to clean his bowl with his normal food since I started giving this to him as a treat.  Purchased more of each of these today.

Opened a small can of Paw Lickin Chicken today and gave a small amount to Bo and Wilson with their normal afternoon snack today:
*  Wilson ate his Ziwipeak lamb as he normally does, but when I tried to get him to eat the small amount of Chicken, he darted away looking very stressed out.  I wasn't really surprised as he is normally a pate kind of cat, and, well, it isn't seafood.
* IBD cat Bo happily ate the Paw Licken Chicken.  Unless a particular food makes him sick, Bo is not particularly finicky.   So, as long as his IBD doesn't act up from it, I will probably use this in addition to his EVO 95% venison & Wellness Turkey.  I like the idea of the very limited ingredients.

I also purchased a couple cans of the Nine Liver, but haven't tried it yet. I purchased one can of Steak Frites with Wilson in mind...curious to see what his reaction will be.

Hi Jenny, Thanks for adding you cat's "comments"!  It's really interesting to read about other cat's preferances.  I thought my cats were just typical fussy felines and it turns out they just haven't had the opportunity to try different things.  I think many of us have been afraid to try new foods since 3/07.  My cats used to get FF as a treat food before.  I feel fortunate to have found Itchmo and the forums right in the beginning.  Following the various threads and URLs has literally changed the way I shop and cook.  Organic, home grown and farmers markets are now my first choice.  And I'm really looking forward to a Whole Foods opening not far from me in June.

Ah, but I digress as cocktail hour draws close.  This afternoon's appies were Mack and Jack, with mackerel & grilled skipjack.  Both cats, from such diverse ancestory, fully approved.  That's 9 out of 10 so far.  Disco says she is still waiting for the canned mouse.  Oh well, such is life.

I was afraid to use it.
