Dare I say it....still so far so good with our crew and both the 5.5 and 12.5 oz cans of Wellness Turkey, Chicken, and Beef & Chicken. There have been many date codes and a variety of stores we purchase them from - although I see a little variation between batches in moisture, color, etc, they still approve. They have turned their cute little noses up at some other brands flavors and haven't liked them since.
ps A while ago they did seem to suddenly turn down the 5.5 chicken for a short time - but now they eat it.

We haven't had any problems with Wellness either, though I gave up posting all the lot numbers.  Mostly 12.5 ounce of turkey or chicken, occasional 5.5 ounce or 3 ounce cans.

(ETA:  1 cat out of 16 doesn't care for the August lot /date of food)

So far my guy loves the 3oz cans of April 2012, June 2012 and Sept 2012.... If anyone has any 3oz experience with any dates after June let me know.  I did find that he hated the 5oz April and May 2012 cans.  They even smelled different than the 3oz.  The 3oz smell like Dinty Moore Beef stew.

20Jul12
The other code is MN8 16:18

Pardon me while I go off in shock and awe!   Grin

Sad Having some expiration dates issues again.

Kitties not liking any current 5.5oz cans. Chicken and Turkey are our two main flavors.

Both chicken and turkey flavors from July 2012 are being ignored. June 2012 was eaten once, then ignored.

Chicken Nov 2012 is doing well, as is Turkey Nov 2012 and Chicken Dec 2012 was accepted as well.

Our local shops have a lot of the March and July 2012, and they are both not accepted in our house.

Why expiration dates vary so much I have no idea, but I don't like that it does. I wish I could find a more consistently accepted food.  Huh

Yep, 3oz cans of Turkey and Chicken dated July and August 2012 get a big nay around here. The July Chicken makes Mia gag and the August Turkey is too grainy and they won't touch it.

I can still find Nov and Dec 2011 Chicken at a little out-of-the-way location (my secret) that doesn't sell too many small cans.

I hope the batches get back up to my cats' standards.

My guy is eating 3oz - 2012 June, July and Sept dates

He loved the 3oz April 12 which I can't find anywhere as it was juicy had a better consistency then the June,July,Sept dates.  I tried some of the 5oz cans from varying months and he wouldn't touch it.  The only 5oz can he liked was from back in March.  I noticed the 5oz cans smell very different then the 3oz cans - they just don't smell like much of anything.

Now we are back to some 3-oz cans being considered edible by the discriminating tastebuds of Isis and Kalahari  Roll Eyes.  This lot of 3-oz chicken & herring is being eaten with enthusiasm:

A big nay on the Nov 2012 3 oz turkey. Very grainy. A big paws up for the Oct. 2012 3 oz chicken.

We thought we had control of this, were feeding May and August Chicken and Sept. Turkey, 3oz cans. All was eaten last night, tonight it was refused and a very liquidy diarrhea ensued shortly after. Poor kitty. She just won't eat another brand at this point--I blame the turkey on this one.

Bo's been happily eating the following since October 2009:

Turkey - 3 oz
20 April 12
7WTKC1 08:19

Have less than a case left and using it as his breakfast food until it is used up.

Introduced this batch about 10 days ago for his dinner food and he is doing fine with it:

Turkey - 3 oz

Argh! The elusive April 12 date. That was the best one by far last year. Lucky you! Mine like the October date as well.

I stumbled upon a case of the April 12 cans today at lunchtime and scooped it up.  It is by far my cats fav.  Sounds like November is a lousy month. Next I'll be looking for October dates.
