The food experimentation began in April. The cats were given grain-free Wellness chicken and turkey formulas,
alternating with Merrick for variety. The first time, they ate the Wellness with some hesitation, and then accepted
it (I sprinkled 4 or 5 kibbles on top to entice them). However, as weeks passed, the Bengal started to lose interest
(he preferred the Merrick poultry formulas). The Maine Coon is less fussy, but I could see that she was just tolerating
the gooey stuff. We discontinued Wellness after a month.

Two recovering ARF cats eating Wellness grain-free canned and occasional Friskies canned and Fancy Feast--without any setbacks.  They need variety to keep interest in eating.

I fed Wellness canned before the recalls then stopped because of that.  I just reintroduced because of need for grainless & variety for the cats.  There didn't seem to be any complaints of problems during the time I didn't feed it, so I decided to go back to it.  It's a gamble any way you do it.

I'm feeding Turkey & Chicken formulas now, also fed those formulas with fish previously but leaving those out this time.  One of the fish formulas had huge black chunks in it in every can, so I quit feeding it.  I think it was the Herring.  No one here is complaining about it now, & I also see the change in texture, so maybe they reformulated it.  The salmon/trout formula (or at least it was 2 fish) smells absolutely rotten, every can of it.

I want to try the Beef/Salmon formula for my CRF cat (the Turkey & this one have the lowest phosphorous levels), but the petstore isn't ordering it yet.  If it's also stinky, I don't want it either.

4 cats, live in Wisconsin.  Started using Wellness 3-oz. cans January or February 06.  Still using it and it's our main canned food now since recalls of other brand we were using.  2 cats eat it, 2 refuse.  Of those that will eat it, the only flavors they accept are Beef & Chicken, Turkey & Salmon, and the new Beef & Salmon.  Won't eat any of the other flavors.  I've had no problems with this food.  One cat with past dental issues (that required some teeth to be removed) seems to like the texture better than almost any other food.

NH
My cats loved the Wellness chicken and did very well on it.  TeenyCat who has skin issues did well also. I stopped using it because of Menu Foods and now homecook.  One thing I noticed: I fed various canned foods over many years and this one smelled good.  Like I could mix it with mayo and celery and make a sandwich.  So many of them smell like...animal digest.

We switched to Wellness also.  When we orginally brought out Maine Coon kittens home they were eating Fancy Feast.  I did not like the idea of by products.  We switched to Max Cat Gourmet for about 6-7 months until the Menu problems started.  Wellness (although I know is made by menu) is the only canned food that we could get the boys to eat.  We tried every "healthy option" out there with no success.  They only like the Turkey Wellness....but at least they do eat it.

Winnipeg, Canada. Just started my newly-diagnosed CRF 18 year-old cat (early stages) on Wellness wet. She had been on antibiotics for an abscess when she suddenly started vomiting non-stop (10x/day). I had been given some Hill's vet foods for her kidney's and I thought these might be the culprit, so I stopped feeding them. After a couple of Zantac shots, she quit throwing up and is now really liking and doing well on the Wellness Chicken, Turkey and Turkey and Salmon (I know, a little high on the phosphorus, but she needs to gain some weight back). Don't like that it's made by Menu, but I'm really limited here.

Wellness Beef and Chicken - I have a hard core hold out for kibble.  The only wet food he would eat was the Nutro pouches which are now out of the question.  He only licked off the sauce and left the pieces.  He likes sauce.  The Wellness Beef and chicken has more jelled sauce on it and he loves it.  Of course he just licks the jelled part of it and eats a little of the meaty part.  I am still hoping that he will develop a taste for it and prefer canned.

I had bought  Life's Abundance earlier this year after loosing one of my cats ....... now 2 of the 3 cats liked it ..... but my one cat wouldn't barley eat it so i switched to wellness dry food ...we are feeding the 2 that liked life's abundance wellness now and they like it .. the other cat  liked it as well but she lost too much weight from not eating barley that we were feeding her old mother hubbard wet food .... now I'm trying to switch her to wellness wet food .. she seems to like it but i think she likes the chicken flavor better then the seafood flavord one I'm feeding her now ....  the flavor is sardine, shrimp and crab formula

NW Arkansas

4 cats. 2 are 14 years old  2 are one year old.

I'd fed Wellness canned for over a year as part of the cats' food rotation until the Menu Foods recall.  I've only just started adding Wellness grain free (beef and beef/chicken) back to my food rotation, since I have yet to read of any serious problems associated with it, and my cats demand variety with their canned food. Since I won't feed fish formulas and due to having one cat who has had some UTI issues, I also have to be careful of magnesium and ash %'s, I am rather limited as far as variety goes.

Fed Wellness Chicken flavor this morning and EVERYONE ate, even my kitty with no teeth who oddly enough prefers dry.  My vomiteer didn't do her usual vomit routine minutes after she has wet food.  This is great.

Another note on Wellness canned. My cats are all dry addicts, and would never touch canned food before, but three of our five all dive right in to all the Wellness flavors we've tried.

annabelle_katie had an excellent idea awhile back about us Wellness people posting our can codes.  I'm going to resurrect her idea.

http://www.itchmoforums.com/your-problems-with-pet-food/help-from-those-feeding-wellness-canned-to-their-cats-t806.0.html

Since Wellness has a legible coding system, I am going to start posting can codes at the beginning of this thread.  If you want to share your codes, you can either post them here and I'll add them to the top thread or send me a PM.  Thanks.
