My guys like the Duck, Duck, Goose freeze dried.  I prefer to feed it rehydrated (and crushed, so it soaks up better), but they don't always  prefer it that way.  In which case, we compromise with a little dry, a little wet.

I wish they had a beef flavor for cats.  They told me that they used to, but it wasn't very popular, so they discontinued it.  I avoid the fishy things if I can with my crew.

I was surprised to find I'd tried Stella's in 2009!  I don't remember it ever being available here.  Or maybe I got it through someone sending it for me from the States.

Anyway, we've got our hands on Stella and Chewy's freeze-dried morsels now, wooo!

We've been trying out the chicken recipe and it's a huge hit for us.  4 eat it fully rehydrated, 3 eat it half+half (rehydrated + crumbles on top), and 1 eats it dry.

I don't know if I've ever seen Lulu or Chami this excited about food.  Big happies over here.

I may give that a try. Surely the kitties will like Tummy Ticklin’ Turkey!

My crew didn't like the chicken, but they love the duck duck goose!

We had a lukewarm reaction to the turkey, but I'm actually starting to wonder if it's just a matter of finding the miracle water ratio (same with the duck).

I'm starting to find feeding Stella's a little bit challenging.  The shape of the food is a rather thick cylinder and it's rather hard for me to get it moistened properly so that it's soft and chewy throughout.  I'm going to try crushing the pieces and then adding water next time it's on the menu and see if it goes over any better.

Also, I feel confused about the amount I'm to serve.

For example

Primal's daily total for Fri-Pie = 5 oz total (5 nuggets + 5 tbsp water).
Stella's daily total for Fri-Pie = 10.5 oz total (1.8 cups dry + ~1 cup water).

How on earth is that possible?   Huh   (I'm not even coming close to feeding that amount...)

It seems wrong, doesn't it?

But Fri is about 13 pounds and this is the feeding chart:

https://www.stellaandchewys.com/cat-food/freeze-dried-raw-dinners/morsels/chick-chick-chicken

On a side note, the leftover Stella's duck that I'd refrigerated last night was happily eaten this morning, straight from the fridge.  It seems the cylinders had moistened to the right consistency.

I guess things with portion size will become more clear as I figure out the best water ratio and if it doesn't, I'll write and ask.

Did you notice the bottom ? feeding amounts may vary +/- 50% . I've always found I need to use more water or broth & let it sit longer . As in do breakfast the night before & refridgerate overnight . Do dinner at breakfast ,etc .

LOL!  +- 50%!  Good grief!  That must be where the difference is.  Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm going to try breaking up the Stella cylinders and add water and see how that goes.  I have to cut the cylinders anyway for Fhizzy (who doesn't like them so big) and Lulu (who has no teeth), though I do like the concept of the meat being in (cylinder-)chunks that they can put in their mouths and really chew.  If that doesn't work, I guess I'll try letting it soak overnight.

I ended up feeding everybody about 1/4 of the "recommended" amount for one meal and it worked very well.

I also ended up crushing all the cylinders and making it into the same rehydrated consistency that the nuggets become and that worked like a charm!

Breaking up the cylinders is working for us.

Chicken continues to be a huge hit and now everyone eats it rehydrated (though with much less water than what Stella suggests).

We also tried the Chicken & Salmon, and no surprise it was also well received.

Stella & Chewy's has a new flavor: Rabbit.

To be honest, we had some strange issues over here with the rabbit - so much so that I wrote to the sellers to give them a light "warning" as it worried me some (two cats threw it up, one got bad diarrhea, and one got very constipated after the first time having it, then I fed it again about 10 days later, and one cat threw it up, and another got constipated).

The company contacted Stella & Chewy's and reported back to me that there have been no reports or complaints so I'm guessing it's just my crew.

That being said, we continue to use the Chicken and the salmon flavors, and sometimes the turkey and duck (everyone eats it but not as enthusiastically).
